Matador Gunner!? do what?

hi guys, i am a NS man and just received a letter stating my appointment as a matador gunner in a combat service support battalion.

 

anyone can provide a brief idea of what to expect as a matador gunner? shiong anot? chiong sua and carry rifle etc?

Anti-armour weapon.. so I think you can expect how heavy it is..

The weapon u'll be using is kind like a disposable underwear. Use once and throw away.

i was an army RP when i was serving NS. never touched an matador before and they are appointing me a role im totally clueless and blur at? kinda absurd...

 

any NS man out there, regulars and lao jiaos out there (not NSFs) who can give an clearer and deeper clarification?

never touched an matador before is not a problem, because you can learn how to arm, aim and fire it in less than an hour. and since you are a matador gunner now, i think you might get to fire it when you go back for your ICT. rem to smile when you shout "1 round away" cos that alot of taxpayer money ending up as smoke. haha....

 

as for outfield, i think you will be carrying your SBO, rifle + the dummy matador. like what audere said, in real life, it can only be used once and then most likely you will be carrying the lightest load among your section after that. but in peace time training, of cos you cannot just throw the dummy matador after you pretend to fire it, so must see how your gung ho your superior is?

203 doesn't have enough armour penetration to deal with anything thicker-skinned than in IFV in direct fire.

M203 is only useful against light armour vehicle and humans. Only weapon like Law, Matador, 84 etc is useful against armour vehicle. But it doesn't really explode the vehicle. What it do is pierce through the armour and the round inject a high heat into the vehicle internal causing the personal inside to burn to death.

 

Back to the TS question. Like a normal infantry, you will be carrying an extra heavy metal bazooka. This super irritating dead weight will cause discomfort to you during your mission. Because you will have your rifle strap and the matador strap sling to your neck. Both will be straining your shoulder. If you need to carry fullpack during mission, then lagi worst. Plus with the matador size, bashing through the forest is a tricky thing. The only consolation is, the 84mm gunner is more shiong than yours.

84mm is company weapon..

man u gonna hate it, I'm one of them as well

its difficult and a hassle to move around with it... especially during fire and movement. But in terms of accuracy, its far better than LAW. What I like about it was place it on the ground and sit on it.

No matter how I sling the weapon its pain n pain, maybi I'm tat lousy with it.

84mm round : expensive expensive

ATGM round : very very expensive

I remember sitting at saf ferry terminal w/ my fellow mates. We were carrying our arms including matadors with us. Den sum chao recruitz were booking out for dunno wad la and dey look so scare of us, hahaha...

I pray that Matador gunners would be issue a shorter and lighter secondary weapon. Once everything ON, makes you feel super clumsy... problem engaging the target.
