Try and call him, Vassil 91128507.

Like you, i dreamt of this bike, but for more than 10 years, and finally plonk my dough down on one a few years ago after going thru quite a few others. Never regreted it . Best ride of my riding life (been doing it for 30 years).

Unfortunately, due to oversea posting, i had to sell it 5 months ago.

Great for sport touring - super comfortable especially with a taller fairing. Great fun on the track. Took it up to Phuket, the windies in Frasers with the Viffer gang. Fantastic fun.

As for quality concern - its not voted the best sports in the world for 10 years for nothing. it really is fantastic. I know I WILL get another when i come back home. So go for it. I personally like the 98-01 model best. But evry Viffers are i know are fiercely proud of their ride. It grows on you.

Go for it.

I Think motorsales got a yellow colour 2001 vfr800 for $12,000 , can go check it out. Not intending to sell any moment unless a good deal for fjr1300 comes along. Currently very happy with my bike, 1 of the best after changing & testing so many bikes! Vfr is the most comfortable. Dun feel too big or heavy even in the city. Quality also good.

 Mah motor, Dexing & New Tech Motorsports Pte Ltd quote to take in $10.5k to $12k for the 02 Vfr Vtec, say until like the bike really worthless..

I rather scrap & throw then to sell back to them to let them make heavy profit... :giddy:

hmmm that roughly means they would probably selling it from 12-14k?

for an 02 vfr... not bad, can consider getting one.

thanks for the info...

but if u calculate according to a normal motorcycle lifespan of 10 years u would come to a depreciation of around $1800 per year...guess tats how they doin their math...

but during 2002 insurance was the killer...believe if ur age group is in the 'safe' zone u can get the bike cheaper...coz from wat i noe the machine price is 18k but by the time it comes to u it becomes around 22k...so the 4k i also duno come out from where exactly...

Can I verify that the VFR800Vtec is relatively heavy when compared to bikes with similar displacement and power? I've heard VFR riders saying that the bike is pretty heavy and takes quite a bit of effort to flick on the track.

And seriously, can this bike do track comfortably? Or will the rider be constantly worrying about something scrapping the floor (like the footpegs or mainstand)?

I've been dreaming about this bike since the day I started riding. Still saving up while waiting for class 2 license. I was having doubts because 800cc falls into same category as liter-class bikes for insurance and that's going to kill!

VFR800Vtec or CBR600RR (or maybe GSXR600)?

I have just had the pleasure of returning from a malaysia B road trip with a VFR800i rider. I was following him on my FireBlade 954.

On paper, the weight difference between these 2 bikes seemed a lot. My 954 weighs a featherly 168kg dry, compared to the VFR 215kg(?).

But if you were to sit on a VFR, as you bring it from its side stand to upright position, you'll immediately be struck that it does not feel as heavy to handle as its weight suggest.

We went through some turns that were very twisty. It appears that the VFR can handle pretty well. Since we are on public roads, we are not riding at a pace that is at my 954's limit. At this pace, I feel the VFR can handle those turns as well and as fast as my 954.

And at speeds up to 120kmh and up to 5000rpm (the VFR is still being runned in), the VFR is actually as quick as the 954. How often do we need really need to travel above 120kmh?

I read another thread here (I think track section) of a VFR rider that was doing some excellent time on the PG track, better than on most people on full sportsbike!

If one were to learn the origins of VFR, it was a full blown sports bike then. So I think a VFR definitely can do track.

There is a difference between wanting to go track 4 times a year and wanting to clock the best lap time than anyone.

I also noted that the VFR has an even more comfortable riding position than 954, already the reigning king of of sports bike when it comes to comfort. Clip ons slightly higher than 954 and your knees are further from your arms. The seat is also more foamy than my 954. Windshield also bigger and deflects windblast up to shoulders level.

End of the day, depends on your priority list. The VFR is not cheap. It is a fully faired bike (so insurance expensive) and the machine price is almost the same price as my 954. There are things my 954 can do better than VFR (but am I really able to expoit those advantages?) and in return, the VFR does some other things better than my 954.

The rider who bought the VFR had previously rode sports bike 400cc and R1, and likes to go track.
