I am on this one. They do not have the normal staff discount for bulbs (any bulb) but I have talked to the philips lighting asia pac sales person and he will try to get me something. He is out of town this week but next week should be back. He mentioned something like 'blue vision' to me on the phone.

Hi Guys,

Am wondering...

1. How many fans do we have for our radiator? 1 or 2? When fan turns on, I can only feel it on the left side...

2. Anyone here uses Denso Iridium spark plugs? How's the effect? Is it suitable for the VFR 800?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Hamster,

I got my first VFR experience and I must say it was quite exciting. Beginning is a bit unusual cos of the diff riding posture but after a bit you get used to it and it actually feels good. The engine is is super solid state thanks to martin ( and I guess alex the mech) . Now I got to get busy reading the VFR bible that Martin gave me. That should keep my evenings busy but not sure if I can cos I rather cruise at nights. Hope I can keep the speedo down a bit cos this baby is fast... Better save some money for future speeding fines :) luckely so far no points yet.

Yeah, would love to meet you and other VFR ppl to talk bike stuff and other rubbish. Maybe next weekend (this weekend am cruising :)).

aahh great to hear about your new experience. dunt worry there is more to come. Take it for a tour... you'll find out experience no1...take it to the track, you'll find out experience no2! heheheh

I might be hitting the track on good friday.. see if you are interested. Might be cancelled coz i forsee customs sure jam like dunno what... I also have to check if the pits are open on that day

Ride hard & safe...

The o2 sensor with the black socket should have been screwed into the TOP exhaust hole, NOT the bottom one. (And vice versa for the sensor with the white socket.)

You should trace the connections coming out from the exhaust hole and check whether they are connected to white or black connector, swap them if they are wrong.

Well I check mine today, my bottom exhaust hole is connected to black socket which is wrong. Did a swap and was currently still testing riding it.

Can't say much for now, but in gear 1 open vtec, don't seems to have the violent transition anymore. I need to go into MY to test it out somemore.

I only haf the owner's manual. But for a novice like me. It shld be more than enuf. If got question i'll just ask the experts here.

Was worried cos when i was idling my bike at the car park after a ride to observe my bike temp, the temp went up to 110C n still gg up despite the fan being turned on. Dunno wats the reason. I suspected its cos some mech din flush my coolant properly.

In the past, at traffic lights, the highest temp i exp is only 108. After fan is turned on, the temp will usually go down too...

VTEC fuelling problem (potentially) resolved

The o2 sensors ( - on some (but not all) VTECs) may have been screwed into the WRONG HOLES in the exhaust at the factory so each o2 sensor has been sending back information on the wrong pair of cylinders in relation to the injection system.

The o2 sensor with the black socket should have been screwed into the TOP exhaust hole, NOT the bottom one. (And vice versa for the sensor with the white socket.)

The wiring, should be as follows:

The exhaust's BOTTOM o2 sensor (irrespective of its socket-colour) should connect up to the WHITE connector on the main loom, & the TOP o2 sensor should connect up to the main loom's BLACK connector. Other than the colours of the sockets, the o2 sensors are indentical, so swapping the connectors is a sufficient fix ( - i.e. the o2 sensors don't physically need to be swapped around in the exhaust itself.)

IF your o2 sensors have been fitted to their correct exhaust holes, the connectors will obviously be black-to-black & white-to-white, but to be on the safe side, double-check your connections using the system in the paragraph above, & your bike should, hopefully, be running fine.

Article taken from here

Guys, better check yours, I will be checking mine this weekend.

Hopefully it can solve my jerky throttle and violent VTEC transition without needing the O2 eliminators and PC.

the jerky throttle is due to the closed loop system on the ECU below 3K rpm. Due to the low resolution of the closed loop O2 sensors it is pretty catchy at below 3k rpm. Just found out something new. rev to throttle any bewteen 0~2.5K rpm. I found that i can maintain it at contant rpm. But once past 2.5k rpm, it shoots up

Wow! it's the Mecca for S'porean and Malaysian Superbikers.

In the middle of the lake is Pulau Banding. It is situated on the stretch of the East West highway, from Kelantan(Jeli) to Perak(Grik). The highway is a few hundred metres above sea level and it is full of 'over 120km/h' turns. Me and friends call it the Grik Highway.

For bikers: If you haven't to Pulau Banding, then you haven't ride in Malaysia.

Am planning to take my baby to KL and cherating this long weekend. Leaving friday morning to sunway lagoon. Then next day go to the east coast. Not too sure which road to take. Can take no 2 straight to kuantan or be a bit more adventurous and cut tru cameron highlenads. Anyone know if that road between cameron highland and gua musang has been openend? Probably stay the night in cherating and then the next day back sg. Anyone else interested? acco is about S$90 for twin share. I bring a female companion along. I can't go track yet cos I don't have the proper gear yet. Need to get that some other time.

I used to work in Philips jurong but that was 7 years ago. The last 5 years in Toa payoh.
