VFR 800i anyone riding dis bike? the 1 wif exhaust at the right side. care 2 share the pros and cons abt dis bike?

Sorry old chap.

Looks like the boys are too caught up in their interstate excitment to answer you.

Let me.

The single exhaust VFR you refer to is known as the 5th generation circa 1998-2001. It comes with cam gears for the valve actuation which gives it that distinctive whirring sound. This is different than the 2002-current, 6th generation which uses traditional cam chains. The 6th gen claim to fame is its Vtec engine that kicks in at about 7k rpm - some love it, some dont.

For me I love the 5th gen for its lack of Vtec complexity and also I am personally less inclined to underseat pipes for practical reasons- although it does look neat.

Pros: The VFR is classified as a sports tourer, with a more sports bent and has been rated as one of the best motorcycle by major magazines for years. It is fantastic in that respect. There is really too much to tell except that I love it and am now riding my 2nd 5th gen VFR as I had to sell my 1st due to oversea posting. Its hell bent reliable.

Cons: Still can't think of any, except the rectifier ghost that can pop out without warning. But that can be easily fixed by upgrading to a Hayabusa rectifier or adding a cooling fan to it to take off some heat off it - which I did (the latter).

For more info i suggest this link http://www.vfrdiscussion.com.

cheers.

The o2 sensor with the black socket should have been screwed into the TOP exhaust hole, NOT the bottom one. (And vice versa for the sensor with the white socket.)

You should trace the connections coming out from the exhaust hole and check whether they are connected to white or black connector, swap them if they are wrong.

Well I check mine today, my bottom exhaust hole is connected to black socket which is wrong. Did a swap and was currently still testing riding it.

Can't say much for now, but in gear 1 open vtec, don't seems to have the violent transition anymore. I need to go into MY to test it out somemore.

yah tis prob has juz been published in the latest "Ride: magazine also can check it out on hondavfr.org

hope tis helps u guys, oh yah rick remember to check tis problem out also ;)

1st gear ..... it will overshot if done w/o control...incremental rate of throttle should be practised

nope the VFr does not have enough torq at 2nd gear(power wheelie) to hoist its 215kg of mass.

less air has more grip. But this compromises stabilty. Do it on a dry day, it should be OK

I am not good at all..can only pop up but has got NO DISTANCE.

Check out WWFC thread.. thats where the kinds are... can clear GP whole stretch !@#$%%
