who brings these pipes in... any idea??

Hamz,

According to the website, its sporting motorcycle. But I called them and they said they no longer. I wanna drop by and ask personally. If they are no longer the dealers, I might approach a pervious mechanic who is the owner of a small shop to bring it in.

You wanna try to bring it in ourselves. I really like the looks and from their website the dyno charts looks interesting. the prices is reasonable and the US exchange rate is at an all time low.

but how to go around getting the pipes approved by ourselves? The last time i heard was you have to bring 1 piece in for LTA to approve it physically(provided the papers itself is approved). I heard it take damn long compared to bike shop ppl who do it.

Thanks VfrT, I got one at LAB for $70. Was a bit confused about the size tho. The YTZ12 seems rather big so ah boy gave me some 'universal' size battery for 'special price' of $70. I think the vtec's use YTZ9 size.

Hi rstopel,

Saw that your bike comes with Leo vinci exhuast. Slip-on? How's the acoustic and performance compared to stock? Worth the change?

How much did it cost you for the pipes? Is it stainless steel or aluminium?

Thanks

You're welcome.

According to http://www.yuasabatteries.com :

Honda - VFR800, A Interceptor, ABS 2002-2005 800cc

Battery Family: YTZ Factory Activated, Maintenance Free

Battery Type: YTZ12S

Voltage: 12

Capacity: 11

Dimensions: 6" x 3 7/16" x 4 3/8"

Weight: 8.1 lbs.

Metric Dimensions: 150mm x 87mm x 110mm

Metric Weight: 3.7 kg

Polarity:

Acid Volume: N/A

Amps: 1.1

C.C.A.: 210

I cant find a YTZ9 in Yuasa site but there is a YTX9 which Yuasa site says:

For CBR900 etc.

Battery Family: Maintenance Free

Battery Type: YTX9-BS

Voltage: 12

Capacity (Amp. Hrs.): 8

Dimensions: 6" x 3.4375" x 4.1875"

Weight: 5.4 lbs.

Metric Dimensions: 150mm x 87mm x 105mm

Metric Weight: 2.5 kg

Polarity:

Acid Volume: 0.4

Charging Current (Amps.): 0.9

C.C.A.: 120

If its the YTX9 u bought, the significant diff is that the 9 has a capacity of 8AH while the 12 has 11AH. This quite a diff. You might experience starting cranking problem after a while, especially after a long ride.

Thanks for that info. I will go back tonight and check on those numbers. The current battery is slighly bigger than the one I had to replace but it still fits without much problem. Yeah, somehow I do not expect a very long lasting battery this time but my previous battery which costed me $140 did not last more than a year (made a number of long trip tho)

hi, yeah, its LV. Replaced the stock exhoust from the cathalizer onwards. Not sure how you call that. Not a tech person :)

Quite happy with the performance. It's much lighter than the stock exhoust too. SOundwise it is not so significant. You hear it only when riding in low gears. So pulling away in 2nd/3th gear is mostly the kick. Mine is alu since it was the cheapest, $830 during intro time. Titanium is a few hundred more ex.

VfrT, I checked the numbers and I bought a FTZ12S battery from a company called FB. Made in Japan from ah boy ($70). It was slightly higher then my old battery which is a CYC TX9BS type. That one was $140.

Well, first time I changed battery myself so a bit confused. Next time I will go for the yuasa.

One of the best feature of the VFR is the proarm.

Together with Continental tyre, looks so good. :lovestruck:

Hi None,

You have the ohlins shock absorber with hydraulic preload adjustment.

How much difference does the ride feel compared to the stock shock? I feel that the stock shock jumps around quite a bit.

Where did you get it? and how much does it cost?

Thanks

Ohlin shock came preinstall when I got from the first owner, so I can't comment on that.

I think you might want to ask rstopel as he rode with a stock for a while before upgrading to Ohlin.

If I am not wrong it's selling for 1k++ at sporting. Model 46DRS

Hi None

How's the Conti so far compared say to the BS 020 and 014. I read some reviews on the Conti and some said that it cuts easily on road debris. This comment put me off as I like to ride in M'sia but some of their roads can be quite bad, so this characteristic is pivotal in my decision. Hope u can share some expereince.

Thx!

Hi rstopel,

Any comments on your ohlins?

thanks

Yeah, I installed a Ohlins after a while. I can't really explain what the difference is but it feels better. Better contact with the road and my specs does not bounce so much on my nose when I travel the NSH :) (i got plastic frame, so easy to bounce)

VfrT, I just got my Sportsattack, only covered 50km on them.

I had not used BT020 and 014 before, but it is softer and lighter than Z6.

Higher profile than Z6, after mounting it actually left no allowance for the rear hugger.

Need to mod to raise the hugger a little bit to accommodate the tyre.

But then again, they are 2 pairs of difference usage tyre, so unfair comparison.

Hi All,

I encounter that my air temp has gone haywire. It will go blank (--) on a normal day. On a cold day, the temperature appear for awhile then it will go down until it goes blank. Has anyone encounter this problem. I would appreciate any advise before going to the workshop. I suspect that the temp wiring is just crossed or short-circuit but dont know where to look and a hassle to take off the fairing.
