Hi HamsterZ,

Is that how installment is calculated?

I always thought that the installment scheme work out like this:

Downpayment 4k means you have to borrow $19,800

lets say u wanna pay withing 5 years so with 5% interest/year for new bike.

$19,800 * 0.05 = $990 interest per year

So total cost will be $19,800 + ($990 * 5 years) = $24,750

Work out the sums and you need to fork out $24,750/60mths = $412.5/mth

Anyway I check again when I get back home.

For Phant@m-str|pe, your 4k downpayment is enough to cover the interest for the 5 years.

may i know what do you mean by this? i don't understand.

Plus $412.50 per mth, still haven't add the insurance and road tax yet right?

This is how I think:

Not necessary to add all the accessories at one go unless you are rich.

Take the time to look and compare the accessories before adding them one at each time.

This will prolong your love for the bike and everytime you add something, it feels like a new ride again.

Update again, anyone saw any 2nd hand VFR for sale? :cheeky:

anyone knows the market price now for a used 1 year old vfr?

am interested to get one, actually considering between 2 other bikes, dl650 and dl1000. Gentlemen , any comments?

Second hand VFR not so easy to find. Looi`s motor sold one recently about $17000. The girl who bought it damn lucky. I think they still have 01 model selling for about $19000 excluding ins. I bought one in May and I like it. Fast enough for touring and not bulky for Spore traffic jam during peak hour.:goodluck:

It's okie cheekoser600.

anyway, did ask my friends about VFR800 compare to FJR1300.

Both bike r GOOD.

But the price for VFR compare to FJR1300, looks like FJR1300 is a WOrth Buying Bike, as what my friends said to me.

But VFR800, the Bike is damn chio loh.. So much new technology had been put into it. That's why it's not cheap.

Headache.. Dunno what bike to Buy,

If no buget, i may get a SPEC3 Super4.. Sian... :weep:

well to each his own. There are many who see VFr is not worth the buy. Like I mentioned to you before. Target what type of riding you want (I know its difficult coz most would want each type).

With abt 24K, you can easily get another equivalent, if not, a more powerful OR/AND comfortable bike such as FZ1 (really value for $$, power comfort and more), FJR (a class tourer with great comfort) and many more. VFR is one of its own class though. It hard to compare as its the only one with a V4. and its the only 800cc!

As to why it is pricey, the V4 itself is not a low cost to make engine. Ask the Viffers here and they will tell you how different they feel compared to an inline. VFR is always the bike which Honda put in alotta techno inside...

so hoep you work out your needs man... Great to see you upgrade!!

Well said.... and itz not only an 800cc V4 toury sports bike... itz also a V-TEC!~! VFR = Very Fast Rider

Juz work within ur financial limits.. and aim slowly towards ur dreams....

But with all the Technology in it... its worth the price... onli the panniers super duper expensive...

Like wot HamsterZ says... choose the riding style... VFR riding style is a hybrid... half touring, half sporting... maibe it can use alittle more CC??

FJR is a sporty tourer... so if possible try both bikes... den u know wot u wan...

Anyway.. im also like phantom stripe.. cun decide betw the TWO..... soo.... moi ambition.... BUY BOTH LAH :D

One ride wif pillion.. One ride wifout pillion...
