okay thx for the help everyone^^ im just really afraid that bend low.. low low low until piak fall on the floor. XD btw i have read the MB pen forum. o_O so drama.

i was quite chicken abt that initially too.. even when the instructor pillion me in during prac 3 i was still scared.. then i usually do 10 plus near 11 secs therafter.. but.. heres the but.. when i went thailand for holiday before my second tp, i sat on a bike, with 3 pple, including rider, me and my fren for almost 5 days, wah.. that is when i became a different rider.. so.. i guess it does help if u can get someone to pillion u at fast speed, doing turns and stuff... builds up ur confidence in bikes..

@huairen, he said its oil low... so.. i am doubting his words now... bc this shop's fino feels weaker than another fr shop B, esp during start up...

Posted

Nv ride fino before.... But it's already low powered for a start...

Just go around shop more first before deciding lor

@fredee, gd luck for ur tp.. dont be nervous, thats the most impt..

for my tp, i had all the wrong combi, but i still passed.. 1st step when i went out fr the wall, the guy behind me inch out when im turning, exact same time... sounds bad? but dont care, i kept going, then, i went slalom, did the whole course on N gear, HA, only realised it at the pt that im vrooming out, so hurry kick up.. many pple will ganjiong thereafter abt pts .. but i was telling myself nvm, no immediate failure and things will be ok.. in the end , no pts for the wall part, only 4 pts for slow speed in slalom, he didnt even see me on wrong gear so no pts for that either.. so... u go out there and get ur license!! just appear cool and calm, esp at the uturn when waiting to turn, show that u are alert but not scared. jia you!!

damn loh soh ah... paiseh

i went with a non rider friend.. sian right.. but im getting my cousin to go see see the 2 shops with me on sun.. at least he is more pro.. but big bros and sis here, if i buy fr pple in the forum, how to be sure that things are working inside..? ask them to bring their bike to workshop with me? srry.. sounds very novice at this .. i am indeed.. haha..

i think if u buy from peeps in the forum, can always check on their past posts to see if the person know how to take care of bike anot etc.. better, at least not as scary as those from bike shops or other sources. and maybe it'll be easier to track down the person if bike got problems after u buy.

not sure what to advise but this is what i have been thinking too. if i go + view bike, i also won't know what to check for man.

+ some faults won't surface with just a short test ride what.

maybe the "older" folks can advise...

Go with people who are more experienced. So they can look out for details you overlooked. For the 2nd hand from forum. can meet up and view bike. Lucky my father is a rider so can ask him for opinions and stuff like that.

congrats shadow on ur pass, wad bike u gettin uh?

arae136: piece of advise wen u buying bike. please bring an experienced person when you buy 2nd hand. ive seen alot of stories already. very common, all the problems are temporarily fixed, only to find it surfacing in a months time.

There is alot of things to take note of. actualy just riding it or look here and der, cant reali judge fully. what it tell my fren is find a good mech first. bring it to the mech to inspect or if u bought alr, bring it to mech and let him have a look. anyway congrats on ur pass too :)

oh ya fredeee the wall if u turning left, must check back right before moving off, den left for blindspot. if u turing right, check back right before moving off can liao.. they take it as a right blindspot check also.. jus my 2 cents

A true friend never gets in your way unless you happen to be going down.

no wonder i see the cdc website offering revisions this thurs during the first 2 sessions.

was thinking maybe no TP this wk.

how come you so well-informed? you go watch TP every wk ar?

have u started your revisions?

Yes, you are right! I am very well informed because I stalk CDC and I stalk at CDC. Haha! It is because I spend most of my time at CDC. Can say my hobby being there watching other people ride bike. Haha! But after I failed my first TP i felt very demoralized and thus I never visit CDC or any bike lots thereafter.   Anyways, I have yet to start on my revisions. I am waiting for this Monday to go and top up my account and then book my revisions.

@fredeee ON the test route paper, mark down all the spots need to check blindspot, one side or two side. Then run it through your head. Helped me alot.

Haha! Niceeee. My heart pump like mad during plank. Because 70% of the time i will drop off. Wah sey, that day not only i never drop, but mytiming above 6 seconds. Super heng sia. I think cos also fasting month, so more luck? heee

Before my first TP i did exactly like what you did. Write everything down on the paper and memorize everything. It really helped me alot too. But unfortunately I failed due to a ridiculous mistake.

Hey unfortunately, I won't be able to have that special luck you had during your TP! My 2nd TP on 23rd Sept! Argh! By then, ramadhan fasting month finish already!

still stuck at fig8. cant seems to do it within 11s. hovering ard 12.2-12.4 :( crap

just attended 2nd time for pract3 in the noon :S

Its ok. Practice! Throttle abit more. tap your rear brake to control speed. I usually throttle more, and 'drag' my rear brake. So its like a constant pressure. Go faster = release brake a bit.

i used to be stuck at 11secs too. no matter how i try just cannot make it below 11.

just keep doing it like you became seow. practise makes perfect.

and don't b afraid to bend low when cornering.

don't slow down too much when exiting.

:goodluck:

yah just go! learn to love the speed!

To all who fear Figure 8, my piece of advice is:

Do not aim for 11 secs, aim for 10 secs!

Keep Practicing!

Do it as many times as possible and during your free time, go and sit down at CDC and watch how they do it!

Get a lift from an instructor!

Throttle more and use only rear brake and only for slowing down IF THE SPEED IS TOO FAST! But in my opinion, the faster you go, the faster you can finish the 'S' Course and the lower you can bend.

Last but not least, watch MotoGP or youtube videos of MotoGP or other forms of cornering videos. Keep watching and it is not for the fun of it. But watch it to learn how they do it and how low they can go. They are the same human beings as us, they are doing the same cornering using the same tar road as us and they are using the same machine as us. If they can do it, so can you.

Definitely this sunday you will pass chipsmore! :goodluck:!
