hi did a little read-up on cutting for beginners (like me) hope its useful..i guess for these diagrams are clearer. :D

http://picturesky.com/albums/userpics/11506/normal_cut.jpg

yeah one question for season smokers...by doin the "dickman" cut does it unravel the cigar?...or the section of the cap is still holding on?

thanx

Posted

definitely not for normal capped cigars, 100% you will be fighting it from the unravelling, spoiling you whole experience.

For a Piramides, Torpedo, Belicoso may be possible.

The only advantage of this cut is that it opens more, so more air can be drawn but if the cigar is plugged, it is plugged, the cut is not going to make that much difference becos it's the bad bunching during the rolling that causes the cigar to be plugged.

Other than looking awful, you can imaging how unpleasant a deep dickman cut will feel in between your lips/in your mouth.

No NO NOOO, not for me, i would seriously rather pinch the cap off any time and do a better job.

Hi fellow cigar fans, i have a friend who travels relatively often. I was wondering is there any good deals we can expect in DFS? wat should we lookout for?

any help is deeply appreciated. thank you.

Posted

Yes very good deals compared to city prices.

plus PPS get extra 10% off.

But if you bring it in without declaring, it's illegal.

Best DFS in the world for cigars, I think would be SPAIN and DUBAI for range , quality and price.

Come join us for a smoke out, you will learn many things slowly but surely. guaranteed to benefit.

forum user, i guess when u're buyin cigars u shd make sure tat it isnt cracked or damaged, and the wrapper shd be of a nice brownish color wif no discoloration.

u might also wanna roll it between ur fingers (gently of cos) to make sure it isnt too soft or hard. the cigar shd feel firm and have a certain amount of 'sponginess' to it. this one takes a little practice.

OK, great. I'm on M1, do they have it as well i wonder?

According to them i'll get a $500 voucher when my contract expires Jun 07, i think. PLus I got another $200 cash rebate from M1 - Citibank credit card.

Maybe, in the end dont have to pay a single cent. heh heh

also had a Mag46 today. Came a little plugged but was good in flavor and body.

No regrets.

Very very off topic, but since you guys were talking about PDA phones..

No vested interest, but if anyone is intending to sms a lot using the PDA phone, the only viable option is a Dopod PDA phone. Cos they're the only one that has the right to use the T9 text messaging input method. Otherwise, you gotta use the handwriting function or the tiny keyboard function.

On another note, my first cigar of the year was a Cohiba Siglo 2. Slighly plugged but nice flavours. Still prefer the larger versions of the Siglo series though.

Happy New Year to All!!

throttle, i got your sms when i was in Penang, saw you sms at night, so didn't reply to you.

Visited Cigar shop in Queen's Bay Mall Penang, their cigar is more expensive than Singapore, very limited stock and very few cuban's cigar.

No worries, Sev

Thank goodness this week started with a Wednesday.

It looks a very tough year for me, work wise.

Just keeping it from being relegated to Page 2....hehh heh heh....

By the way, for everyone's interest, the Habanos shop at Suntec is really overpricing its ware. Siglo 50ct humidor was selling for $680, bot only for $285 at ConDivan. WTF??!?? Even at undiscounted price, it's cheaper at ConDivan. The prices over there are really for Tourists, man.....

Anyone knows where's a good fair place to buy Colibri lighters? My friend is interested. Cheers

i got one Colibri lighter, but i bought from Ebay, may be your fren can get from Ebay too...

not so good for lighting cigar, the capacity is small, after 1 cigar you need to refuel, very troublesome...
