i got one Colibri lighter, but i bought from Ebay, may be your fren can get from Ebay too...

not so good for lighting cigar, the capacity is small, after 1 cigar you need to refuel, very troublesome...

There are many designs for Colibri so depends on whcih one you get.

I'm personally not a fan of Colibri or Jet flame lighters in general although some of them are very nice looking.

Hi,

I seen Suntec there's a shop selling... near to Watson.

The shop lOoks nice and well tidy up.

Then you've havent seen anything yet, dude. heh

The shop at Suntec has poor variety, poorly conditioned cigars and tourist pricing.

But I guess that's Tourists or occasional cigar-smokers are their target market not seasoned smokers like many of us here.

hi guys, i've juz done a EL REY DEL MUNDO choix supreme, bought from LA CASA CUBANA...from the regent hotel. courtesy of bro throttle's recommendations, it was overall a much better experience compared to my 1st try which is a ROMEO Y JULIETA from a 7-11 convenient store.

ok im not very good at this but i'll try to describe as much as i could:

Overall the draw is smoooth...(much smoother then my 7-11 RYJ ....hehe)

its got a little nutty taste....spicy as well...maybe b'cos of my lack of palate so my description on the flavour sounds amateur.... :D

I managed to retain a 1inch plus ash...burn was even....but later screwed up cos i moved to the outdoors towards the last 1/3 of the smoke... :(

well managed to smoke it in ard 45-50mins....thats about it.... attached is the picture ...

Fabulous. glad you liked it.

45 - 50 mins is about right for a choix supreme.

but for a new smoker, that's on the fast side.

Next cigar I would like to propose to you to try is the Romeo y Julieta Exhibicion No. 4. It is the same size as the choix supreme with usually good draw, slightly grassy, very toasty flavors and the occasional fruity lingers in the midway.

I've hurt my back quite badly playing tennis last evening so my movements are quite restrictive.

My wisdom tooth extraction postponed to next tuesday so hopefully, I can recover quickly enough for a smoke tomorrow nite.

Besides NitesTalker and myself, anyone else for tomorrow?

fast huh... maybe as i moved outdoors it sorta burnt quicker....nevertheless will try the RYJ exhibicion No4.....any idea regarding price roughly?.....does oaks at Tanglin offer competitive pricing or its good to go back to Regent?

thanx man.

hahah... it is slightly fast. at least ur burn looks quite even from tat pic. i hate gettin an uneven burn!

if im not wrong a ex no.4 costs less than 30. ard 25-28. not sure abt the diff in price between oaks and regent though.

u wanna join us for a smoke tom evenin? we're most prob meetin ard 6-7. so where are we meetin throttle?

I've run out of suggestions, Nitestalker.

Con Divan gets a little boring but I guess that's the best ?

forumUser should try your best to join us. you can get your cigar at condivan.

wun be able to make it guys..sorry.

yeah i hate uneven burn also.....its like having splinter in your fingers..WAHAHA

but i guess it all boils down to lighting...wind conditions...etc.

by the way if you encounter uneven burn do you hold it on the reverse angle to let it burn through and even out? or let it go out totally trim it off and relight again?

well this cigar thing is getting interesting every time...something that cigg smokers cannot understand..hehe i've got friends who are shock to even see me fondling and caressing my 30bux EL REY ...to them 30bux is like GOD knows how many sticks of ciggies....some even say..eh you dun tarik isn't it wasting $$? like burn grass (literally translated from hokkien)

well i tried to explain that its all in the appreciation and palate of the fremented tobacco and of course a fine cigar can set you in a "trance" for about an hour WAHAHHA NOT the drug kind of trance though...personally when i light up i juz wanna sit there and not go anywhere else....SENSATIONAL! (im an ex smoker though..quit like 10yrs ago)

when i popped by LA CASA saw this lad...slouching on the couch enjoying his smoke....its like man he is in seventh heaven. look at that face! :D

like i did mentioned to throttle..i guess there is a wrong perception of cigars to general public..or at least the general public are not "educated" on such enjoyments in life....like i mentioned my 1st trip to regent was quite "intimidating" 1stly all cigars are stored nicely in humidors....so you really need to know what you are looking for to go in there....so that setting sorta turn some ppl away from that premises already.

was thinking if such cigar shops could have a little museum like setting on the facade will he better and ppl will slowly appreciate the art...and not BAM! hello can i help?!...its like if i dun do cigars what can i say? juz browsing? theres nothing to browse dude. ..then again who am i to teach them how to run the business..HEHE

nevertheless will keep trying and aquire the appreciation for cigars.

enjoy your smoke!

Nice long post there ForumUser.

the reason why a lot of things cannot be done is becos it constitutes to advertising. and tobacco advertising is ILLEGAL. Stupid as it may seem becos Alchohol which has more direct ill effects are being advertised like mad with govt endorsements even.

try getting your cigars from con divan UE Square, the folks are more tuned to new smokers. La Casa is more tuned to regulars

Enjoy!

sad to say, quite a handful of pple still associate cigar smoking with 'ah peks', or worst, posers!

initially, i did find goin into cigar shops a little intimidating. cos it seems so high class, and the fact tat i didnt know much abt it then only made it worse. didnt wanna look like a clown. hahaha...

anyway, like wat throttle mentioned, i think a gd place to check out ur cigars would be conn divan. they offer a wide selection, and their staff are more than happy to help u.
