Just got my bike today, does the head light go dim while stationery & back to normal when moving off?

yes it does. headlight is connected to a relay. only enough current (when u rev) will the relay be activated to brighten up the headlight.

this is a rather good design because when the bike is stationary, less power is drawn from the battery.

No more regrets.

Sorry one more question, temperature gauge my will rise to 100 degrees when caught in traffic jam (move-stop-move-stop) & fan kick-in at 110 degrees. If cruising temperature stay 50 to 70 degree. Anything wrong.

what is the date of manufacture of your bike? likely to be weak battery

Date of manufacture: 2009 according to log card, battery weak ??? you mean head light dim... Paiseh rider also have this issue.

not sure about the temperature issue. my bike nv hit more than 100degC b4.

as for the headlight, its not an issue. its a feature to save power when bike is stationary.

dun worry so much, enjoy your ride :D

my only worry is the replacement of parts, such as air filter, rollers, clips and belt. do we have to go back to mah?

are those parts mentioned compatible with other parts? the engine is a SYM engine, so no worries for the engine. im worried more on the wear and tear transmission parts.

No more regrets.

For the headlight issue, Bro Paiseh is correct.

The head light will go dim while the bike is stationery & back to normal when we throttle enough to move off.

It is not a battery weak issue. Not to worry so much.

I have this headlight "issue" too.

For those who brought the latest AD 200 with SYM engine, it confirmed SYM using EFI system.

Hi everyone,

Hope you've all been well. Missed my visits to this forum as been MIA for quite a few months already, but now bouncing back up again and ready to take the ride :)

So many things have happened since my last visit here - Like in December when someone or something pushed over my AD at an open-air parking lot in Bishan - that left my bike with scratches, dents and a warped windscreen!!!

Posted

hi is that the 150cc first generation adiva? it looks really well taken care of.

No more regrets.

Hi Guys,

I am a few to bought the AD250, which uses Piaggio X9 250cc. The engine is a has funny sound...e.g something lose inside, send back to Mah to check so many times, but couldnt find the problem. The back cover doesnt align proper when its close...

Now, the handle bar cone had worn off, and need to be replaced....waited for 6 freaking months for the stock (wobble when turning..). Now the stock is here but still got to wait for the quotation for the spark part...Hope doesnt cost a bomb.

Honestly i like this bike...but would be good if other bike shop (ban Hock Heng) can bring in this brand...Mah services is bad and dishonest. I will never buy any bike from Mah again.....

hey roy ,

go buy a set a belt and rollers .i intro you to a scrambler specialist bike shop in JB to fix your scooter.very good worksmanship, good attitude & very reasonable price compared to sg.And i don't usually get the crap from local bike shop "Eh boy ,you park here loh!!! I open the engine tmr and tell you what spoil !!!"

He do everything on the spot and confirm solve problem at 1 go ..

it is in taman molek JB .15 KM from JB custom.

I usually go fix my bike there during weekdays morning ,and it will be done in the late afternoon .

PM me if you want to go .

Hi Deryiu,

Do you have any bike shop in Singapore instead? I dun feel safe riding this bike into JB, a bit too risky.

It is safe if i show you how to ,i go to the shop almost every week ,full blast my radio all the way , given up on sg bikeshop already ,cheap ones don't know how to repair ,others price is plain extorbitant and cannot solve the problem in one repair compared to JB.

Anyway the bike shop not in the common ah gua lane ,a little far away from jb town near carrefour so quite safe .

If nothing goes wrong, there should be one with a nice 2-digit plate for sales at one of the bike shops along Bukit Merah Lane. :)

Owner backside itchy too, looking at trading in for another ride.

Arghzz.. How did you manage such good FC??

I can only get at best 24+ km/L.

On average, I am only getting 23.+km/L.

Or is it because I ride mostly on normal roads which has a lot of red-lights and hardly on expressways?

Is that your bike? Instead of trading-in might as well try and sell yourself. The trade in price for my X8 is so low I rather keep as spare. So is it your bike? Sell me, sell me :cheeky:
