Wondering if any Adiva200 owners out here experiencing the same problems:

1. My scooter sometimes stalls while waiting at the lights, it sometimes tends to overheat as well.

2. My scooter also has problems with the ignition and sometimes I need to start it a few times before the engine begins running.

So far since I had it over the past 9 months, my scooter has not been able to start 3 times and I had to call in the towing service to take it back to Mah Pte Ltd. The 'Service' icon also lights up for no apparent reason every once in a while but I've been briefed by one of the mechanics there on how to rectify it. He also mentioned that it's quite common for such displays to occur every now and again.

Anyone to share?

Problem resolved and my ride's as good as new - except that the 'service' icon lit up once again and I had to turn it off manually (using the method taught to me by the mechanic)!

Sorry for the intrusion into this thread.

Can I ask?

Is this Adiva 200 = to this Adiva AD 200 (http://cars.st701.com/motorcycles/view/554) (http://www.adiva.it/newsite/eng/adseries.html)?

If they are two different bikes, I apologise for the interuption.

Thank you. :)

No worries. Yup, absolutely is - the ADIVA 200 = AD200 :)

There're 2 versions pf it though - you may wish to check it out at Mah PL.

One has a storage compartment behind to store stuff as well as fold in the retractable roof. The other model has no storage box but you can still remove the roof and put it elsewhere.

hihi,

could u enlighten me on how to rectify the "service" icon manually?

Hi CIV,

r u are having the same issue with your digital speedo screen?

Here's what u should do:

1. Turn the key to 'swith on' (but don't press the ignition)

2. IMMEDIATELY press the switch on the top of the trottle (just as u would do to reset the odometre/clock readings - but this time hold on to it all the way until the blinking readings have stopped). You will eventually see that the 'service' icon will disappear (unless there's really a technical problem - the service icon will remain & which means a visit to the service workshop is due).:p

Thanks, Chewbacca, for your clarification.

Just curious to know anybody else riding this scooter?? :)

Thanks.

Also, where can I download a copy of the Adiva AD 200 manual?? My bike shop told me no manual when I took the bike. I tried to download from here : http://www.adiva.it/newsite/eng/adseries.html, but it says "The file is damaged and could not be repaired."

Also, also, how air must I pump for both my front and rear wheels?? What psi? 34psi for front and 38psi for rear? Please enlighten me as I am new to a scooter. Thank you. :)

I am planning to pillion after I get used to this new ride of mine. :)

Hello fellow-AD200-rider and friend,

Yup, I ride an AD200 too :)

Been trying very hard to get the manual from my dealer for the last 10 months, believe it or not - each time i call in to ask for one, they'll tell me that it's coming soon... i've stopped asking a couple of months ago.:faint:

Managed to download the 'assessories installation manual' from the website you posted http://www.adiva.it/newsite/eng/manual_eng.pdf and printed an extra hardcopy - can email/pass it to you if you are still unable to download from your pc.

It is recommended that we use a tyre pressure of between 28-34psi (pounds per square inch) for the front wheel and 32-38psi for the rear (the lower range for when we ride solo and the upper range when we're carrying more weight with us, like pillion/cargo)

Have lots of fun riding your AD200 - actually the passengers are the ones who truly enjoy - everyone of my pillion have remaked how comfortable it feels to tum-pang on the AD c/f my previous bikes.:D

Hi, friend,

Thanks for your advices.

You managed to pillion your friends??

Till now, about 4 days after I am riding one, I still not quite confident to pillion my wife due to the smaller wheels and also, I find that when going up a slope, it seemed like there is not enough power to move up the slope.

So I was concerned that if I pillion my wife (additional weight besides my own weight), the bike might not be able to move... hahahaha...

FYI, I am still running in my ride, have been riding at around 50km/h or 60km/h only...

hahahaha....

Hi, Chewbacca,

Also, how did your pillions managed to climb into the rear pillion seat?

Did you open up the "roof-top" for them to climb or the "roof-top" was attached to the front wind-shield when your pillions are mounting the pillion seat??

Sorry for my lots of questions, as I am quite excited with this new ride and am still pondering of how my wife can climb onto the pillion seat behind me?? heehee... :)

Thank you very much for all your advices. :)

seahmh, No worries :) I've sent you a p.m. with my contact details.

Hi, Chewbacca,

It was nice meeting up with you.

Sorry for the trouble caused with such last minute arrangement to meet.

You are really a true wonderful refined gentleman with a heart of gold with your sharing of your experiences and advices selflessly and also your occupation.

I really salute you.

Yes, like you mentioned in your previous posting.

A meet-up of all Adiva ADs will be great. :thumb:

I have a thought that perhaps we can make a Adiva ADs meet-up more meaningful and for a good cause by "incorporating" your nature of work. But then not every one may be keen in it. Just a thought about it.

Cheers. :)

Thanks bro, you're too generous

Yup, it'd be good if us ADIVA riders can do something for charity - perhaps something will come up soon enough, but in the meantime there's this:

Mooncake Charity Event 2009

Event - Making 10,000 mooncakes

Date - Saturday, 03 October, 2009

Time - 0700 - 1500hrs

Location - Paya Lebar C.C.

They need (1) people to prepare the mooncakes and (2) riders to despatch them to elderly residents living either alone or in community homes - check it out on the 'upcoming rides and outings - events' thread. I've signed up for it. Hope more ADIVA riders do read this and pass on the info.

sounds bad, actually i was contemplating this bike for work purpose, but seems like it's a high maintenance bike. And from your experience it's not as reliable.

How's the ad200's fuel consumption like?

Looks like the price to pay for weather protection is quite high... haiz

Sighz... Also looks like my decision (to get this ride) is wrong too... :)

Guess I got to pray hard that nothing goes wrong for my ride for this coming one year... :)

Don't worry too much about it if you're considering because what happens with my bike may not necessary happen to another - maybe just my luck because when I used to own an Aprilla Mojito and a Phantom TA200, they used to break down on me on a few occasions as well, requiring towing service. Ironically, my interim ride which happened to be a small capacity 110CC took me on numerous rides to Malaysia and I never once had to take it to the mechanic except for the regular oil change/normal servicing and I extremely enjoyed my NSR 150 SP which also never gave me any troubles except with my wife:o

The fuel consumption, I feel is pretty alright - seems to guzzle less than my Mojito and Phantom (so sorry, I'm not well-informed re the litre/km type info). And though I might curse and swear when I had bike trouble, the shelter has always been a blessing during a storm (not 100% dry, but good enough so that I'm not drenched!).

No worries bro, actually it's a very spiffy bike and the shelter - whilst keeping you shaded from rain and sun also acts as a safety-frame for the rider and pillion. Moreover, like I told u before, your's the MY'09 model which would have been an improvement from my batch, so fingers crossed :thumb:

halo fellow adivians,

Dormant thread gets a revivial. Sorry to hear some fellow riders having problems with their ride. I'm riding the old 150cc model and it has not given me any problems since i bought it 2nd hand about 3+ yrs go.

Only problem i face is the sole distributor support in getting the parts that require replacing.

Want to share what I understand from the new adivas. Up to AD 250cc it is using the piaggio engines but the new AD200 is using Sym's Taiwan engine as a Taiwanese company took over the company after the AD250 production. Not sure how true it is.

There is also a 3 wheel prototype version.
