Hi guys, got a couple of questions regarding insurance renewal.

 

1) Usually how many months before your insurance expires will the insurance company send you the renewal letter? By the way, i am with NTUC income.

 

2) Regarding the NCD, my previous NCD was given to me on January 06, but that was on my old bike with another insurance company. The current insurance that i had was bought on March 06, so the new NCD will be given on January 07 or March 07?

its usually a mth or two they will issue u the renewal letter... for ur ncd wld follow the latest insurance that u bought... so its on the march 07.. cheers...

u can transfer the ncd even if u purchase from different company.next time u purchase a new bike regarding of it first hand or second hand remember to transfer ur ncd to that bike.u just show them ur previous insurance company paper or tell them the vehicle number plate also can.

Hmm... so is one month or two? Cause makes a difference to me, if it is two month, then i dont need to go extend my insurance already. :cheeky:

hmm.. dun c y if it comes 2 mths b4 expiry den u dun need to go extend.. coz no matter when dey send wad matters is when ur insurance expires ma.. no matter when dey send u e renewal notice the premium will be based on completion of current cover.. if ur selling ur bike, e cover will end on the date u perform the transaction.. do check w ur insurance agent or call up ntuc themselves to check out the ncd status if u sell b4 cover expires..

Currently my bike is under hire purchase from a bike shop.

 

my question is.... can i renew my motorbike insurance from other bikeshop though still under hire purchase or do i need to renew at the same bike shop?

de xing cannot...must do at their shop...

firstly, u ar posting in the wrong place... but still have time before the mod move ur post.

 

next, as long as the bike is under hire purchase, and abide by an agreement, you have to get the insurance from them, other than getting permission from them to buy ur own insurance.

 

like lucify says, you must have money.

 

ultimately, you will end up paying more insurance than anyone.

it varies from shop to shop....

in order to hav ur insuarance renewed u w'd require to hav the log card.

but whilst under hire purchase u may not get it and they wld insist that u renew thru them....thus they earn a nominal amount. u can request for a copy of the log card...to lets say to get a season parkin coupon done...however sum veteran shop doyens wil issue a copy but with a stamp on it readin "under hire purchase". for sum reason this oughta sway other bike shops to renew ur insurance. this is a taboo...and mutual understanding amongst affiliated shops. but yes it can be done....read in between the lines i've given ample clues....

mmm...but what if u want to get straight from the insurance company and in this case, no interest involve i should say...would that be ok?

MITSUI ALSO CAN ... AT JLN BESAR COMMERCIAL AGENCY

 

DONT HACK CARE THR SHOP LA IF THEY ASK U RENEW WITH THEM... THEY JUST WANNA EARN THE COMMISION FRM YOUR INSURANCE... COS THEY ARE ALSO INSURANCE AGENTS...

 

NO SUCH RULES AS MUST RENEW WITH THEM...

 

BIKE IS URS... ONLY FINANCE UNDER THEMM, AS LONG AS INSTALLMENT NO PROBLEM THR IS NO REASON FOR YOU NOT TO B ABLE TO RENEW ELSE WHR..

For de xing... i never rnew thru them for 4 f****** years... directly go ntuc & renew by myself.... save the hassle of going all d way der .. :cheeky:

i had good experience with deximd pple at the ubi branch. there was this chinese girl in her early 20s called kexing i think. very helpful in helping the bike seller and i in transfering ownership
