Issit advisable to use my remaining Fork-Oil to lube my chain?

will it harm the chain?

will it "eat" up my chain? joint?

i've been using my EO to lube my chain.. Want to know if using ForkOil will do any harm to the chain?

It doesn't really matter what oil to lube your chain. Fork Oil will not harm your chain but i wouldn't recommend because fork oil is abit expensive when compared to regular EO or gear oil.

fork oil can be used to lube ur chain.. i've filled them into my scottoiler (and many kinds of other oil based liquid) and they still runs smoothly. My chain has hit 20k mileage and they're still can last for another 7-8k at least.. constantly maintaining your chain will gives u a longer life span.

For that matter, do not use dot 3 or 4 liquid (the brake fluids) as they indeed are corrosive.

hydraulic oils....thats the oil that transmit power..

lube oil...this oil is for lubrication..

palm oil..this oil or cooking

so u see diferent oil for different uses..

the end of the day is..does it work?..will it have other side effect eg damging other parts, producing smoke, smell etc..

all i can say is that...

fork oil is not a good lubricant..

most hydraulic oil is corrosive in nature.eg your brake fluid is also a hydraulic oil,

yes all oils..all liquids have some sort of lubrication properties..note it may have a shiitty lube properties.

if you are really desperate use ..the used cooking oil..it too have some lubrication properties..

i will not use something that is not meant for the purpose...

eo or 2t...they can be purchased for $3/ L...even cheaper in malaysia at rm$6/L is available..

its not the scottoiler is no good...maybe it is the hydraulic oil is not suitable..

the ezzyoiler..can give chain life extension by 5ok km easily...some even claim 100k..km.

Ya actually most of the time its user problem.....not equipment problem....Misusing of equipment is one of the main cause of equipment failure. True?
