Nope. I surf only SBF, HWZ forum occasionally. EDMW dunno what that is. I guess the new ones just have to get used to Tyrael, Grave65 and the rest of the kakis' here style of posting. The questions posed are the kind that have been asked before or the answers can be found easily had a little more effort been put in. The guys in here are not really into spoon feeding information.

Besides, unless you've been to one of their outings, they don't really entertain questions from people they don't really know. Many have come, posed questions, got their answers and then disappear from this thread... :sian:

EDMW is part of HWZ.

Its not that some of them do not want to look for answers, mebbe some did, but just could not find what they wanted. But if the questions posed were those kinda.. u know la.. yah ah understandable to get irritated.

Maybe this thread too long ah.. 600+ pages.. i myself find it a bit hard to read all the pages. But i try to lah.. though i skip by batches.

But actually i got 1 qn, but shy to ask ah. Shy by nature.

wats the market price now for a 03 r1?

Should be around $13K, I suppose. Someone is selling off his red R1 05 on mocca.com for $16.5K... :angel:

anywhere from 11k-13.5k depending on plate number. but 03 model despite it being unique in its own way has a few probs that u might wanna find out first.. i think 04 onwards besides the tps problem is a better buy.

Actually i wanna ask abt sliders. I understand that there are a total of 5 different sets:-

1) Frame 2) Clutch 3) Rear axle 4) Front axle 5) Swingarm

Do u guys actually fix all 5? Wouldnt it look fugly? I guess, normally ppl only fix the frame (a must), clutch (a must) and also the rear axle sliders, am i right? I dont see much function of the swingarm sliders if one has oredi fixed the rear axle slider. And front axle sliders.. look ugly.

Currently, Racing-Tech is having a promo for their sliders which cost abt 1/3 that of Motovation's. I've heard of cases whereby the metal rods do actually break. Are those from Racing-Tech good enough, given its prices, or should one die2 buy Motovation's?

Clutch = need

frame = need (duh)

swingarm = need (also doubles as a jacking point for paddock for tat extra-added poser value :lol:)

rear axle = no need ( if u already have swingarm sliders)

front axle = need

i put mine on the yoke coz cannot find space near or on the meter coz my cluth cable will hit the gipro when turn handlebars... yes, the oem gear will only shows which map u select on ur gipro when u at gear 1.. except for map 7 the latest batch of gipro.. previous was 4,5,6.. sometimes u may notice the girpo shows 2nd gear when ur at 1st gear and that is normal.. i'm on my third gipro covered by warranty but its a hassle sending over tu hungary bcoz the shops dun send for u.. healtech the producer of the gipro wants the customers to feedback to em and wont let the shops to troubleshoot the gipro... eventhough the unit iz waterproof plz avoide direct water escpecially at the button area..

what does the mapping do?

like wat newbie^41 said.. i think sliders are non essential. clutch slider i dunno wats that so i shall not comment. sliders they are useful if u haf a stationary drop or maybe to an extent a minor accident?they protect ur fairings. but if u haf a major crash no sliders are gonna save ur bike i believe. the fairings will still get scratched etc etc. so in my opinion why even bother spending that few extra hundreds? this one personal preference i think

i haf heard of ppl, due to the slider, cause more damage to the bike when in an accident but i think this one see u heng/sway

Wah you sure not? I thought the stock one should be the most accurate one since its built in. Or maybe you're going too fast la.... :cheeky:

dun need gear indicator, during my ride of k5, i put in a TRE, and the gear indicator was disable,i cover it with a sticker.

Anyway if you are in track, you wont have the time to look at your gear indicator, and if you ride long enough, RPM is all you need to tell you which gear you are at. But the Gi-pro is cool , big gear display, but for mi it seem useless. Maybe i dun look at the meter that much ba.

what does the mapping do?

well the maps activates the tre.. the numbers 4,5,6,7 depends on which suits u n the bike the most.. i use map 5 for k6 1000... and it is recommended by the manual.. the new 7th mode is a special mode to by pass 180kmh top speed limiter.. those with power cuts.. eg. GSX1400..

What is TRE?

Suzuki Fuel injection bikes use different ignition timings in each gear to conform to local regulations for noice and emissions. Timing are retarded in lower gears. With activated TRE throttle acceleration n response improved in gears 1 through 4 with gipro. Note that gipro does not increase Horsepower...

I'm sorry to hear abt ur grandma.. ur race fairing sold to saniboy izzit?
