1st wk aft getting bike, changed to akra slip on, low end sucks! got a pc3 n loaded the map from database meant for stock 04-06 r1 wid akra slip on n race filter. Slightly better. den I remove the slip on silencers n it got worst. den I changed to bmc race filter n now the low end feels like my previous rvf, so much SLOWER den stock. haven tried high end yet.... balls small, so max rpm I ever went was like 8k to somewhere below 9k... Normal or something wrong wid this **** bike?

btw, I changed to 520 chain conversion n +1 on rear wid afam front n rear. but it still feels slower den the previous stock heavy sprocket n 530 chain w/o pc 3, stock exhaust n stock filter.

There's nothing at 0-4k rpm for 04-06...

u never ride R1 if u never shift at 13k rpm.....

 

coz R1 live at that rpm only....below that R1 is dead....

hmm... actually not that bad if I really whack the **** out of the bike. Anything aft 7k seems fast. But just a HUGE loss of low end torque. Overtaking cars on expressways r not that shiok anymore if I didn't drop gear. For the full stock condition, jus a slight twist at 6th gear n it jus pulls.... Cos cl2 got not too long, only got 12points. 2nd gear when it starts to pull at ard 7k, its oredi near 100km/h. I do treasure my license...

haha. nothing to do, so went to meddle wid my suspension. Front n rear stock. As I got the bike 2nd hand, I adjust back to stock settings few days back and realised previous owner set the preload n comp front/rear quite soft. somemore the front comp was unbalance. 1 side 13, 1 side 20......

Handling is more balance out but abit harsh n on those e'ways exit of cte where u turn right on the lights, bumps n uneven surfaces make cornering dangerous n bike feels unstable no doubt still within control. Aft reading up wad the angmors set for street on the worst rds of the states, I dial in the setting I think looks most promising n true enuff, it works like a charm! Front n rear still as stiff as it is, but during tight n quick banking on bumpy surfaces, feedback is more sharp n handling is alot better n bike react faster. U guys might wan to try it.

 

Front:

Preload = Stock

Comp = 16

Rebound = 9

Rear:

Preload = Stock

Comp = 10 (They use 9 but I scare abit to hard)

Rebound = 20

 

Den while riding/testing the setup, I tried riding wid a different method n realised actually bike is quite torquey, I jus have to ignore the lag from 2k-4k, anything above 4k, its really quite gd.

Will update u guys aft I have the chance to pull till redline n see if the high end aft those add on mods worth the exchange for the low end loss anot.
