Must sieve out the micro, nano particles of metal not caught by the oil filter mah. Anyways, just offering a cheap scrap alternative to a nut costing $19.00.

To clarify, just because it is a filter, it doesn't mean that some particles won't be able to find their way out of the filter unit too....

But then again, most of the engine parts that are sliding against each other (while being protected by your engine oil) are infact made of aluminium and other non-ferrous metals, and are hence not affected by magnets... Your cylinder wall, your pistons and piston rings.

Those that are made out of steel are likely to be your conrod, crank, and some bolts and bearings. And they are not likely to churn out particles and sh1t as much as the ones sliding against each other.

So... why do we need the magnet in the first place? :D

I get what you mean... :)

It might give the owner a false sense of security.

Nothing beats using a good quality engine oil and change of oil and filters according to the manufacturer's recommendations.

Maybe can be use as a Diagnostic tool..... By the time you see the metal shavings on the drain plug, time to overhaul engine.... :cheeky:

And aftermarket exhausts, racing rearsets, power commanders, and dampers just to reach KKFC in first place?
