its known as the tps problem which u have to wait for the recall if yours is an agent bike. If not its either u DIY or pay a amount to have it done ....

 

Alan, Do you know how to DIY? any solutions or tools needed for this fix up?

Hi, any 08 R1 rider here can help me? My 08 R1 needs to press the start button, without twist the throttle, for 4~5 seconds then the engine will start. The previous owner told me it is normal, so is it normal because so many electronic stuffs in this bike? Help me out please, thanks in advance:) btw, my bike is in full stock condition.

You don't know the limit of your bike until you crash it, otherwise you are just not trying hard enough:angry:

I used to have dat problem... I end up change my battery n its solved... cos I waited too long to change the batt till the batt died on me even after dat symptom of difficult to start has came to me earlier....

Think DeuSexMachina posted something about using sandpaper and wd-40 to diy and the tps problem never surfaced again. Maybe you'd wanna PM him?
