jus to chk wif u guys.. i jus bought a 07 R1, but erm.. currently having some problems... the engine will jus cut off by itself after traveling for awhile when i'm coming to a stop ... heard from ex owner tats its a common problem among the 07 models.. need some enlightment here..

 

its this due to the fuel pump, sensor or is it really a manufacturing fault?

 

and also.. i realise tat R1 are really veri hot! its burning off my leg hair!! haha well if i were to wrap the heat wrap around the header and midpipe would it like reduce the heat?

i recently changed my front brakepads, n now, wen i brake the front, the fork right up to the handle bar will start to vibrate wic cause unstability to my riding. my rear brake has also starting to hav the same problem.

 

i realised dat all my 3 disc rotor are not even anymore. it has humps n curvy surfaces. my back disc rotor is startiing to scratch(mayb due to used brakepads). so wats the best i can do?

 

change all 3 rotors? which i tink gona be costly

or is there any other way dat can solve the problem? like changing a better brakepad?

or mayb is dat such method for resurfacing the rotors' surfaces?

YOU have either can change disc or get them resurface( not prefect and MIGHT NOT HELP AT ALL)

 

If YOU WAN TO CHANGE DISC...can buy my oem disc...hehehe...interested pm me...My disc prefect condition..if not spend some $$ on resurfacing of disc..which will be done by grinding your rotors.

and ya R1 is fishing hot! well some wrap their exhuast but i find it super ugly so either u just wear jeans for ur rides or change ur link pipe and exhaust lo

why resurfacing might not work at all? mind me asking

 

 

 

1. resufacing/grinding will make your rotors thinner , oem rotors are 4-5mm thickness. ( resurfacing/grinding mostly done by hand at bike shop...will it be even and straight?

 

2. thinner rotors after resufacing will have bad dispersion of heat when you brake and may cos 1. brake fade 2. rotor warping

 

In the ned up to you what you wanna do...my question is why spend $$ and not be sure of how long it will last or even if it will work proper when u need it most.

try not using your engine brake when coming to a stop.

TPS means Throttle Positioning Sensor .... can only be solve the following 3 ways:

 

1) If yours is an agent bike ( try go HL see if it is ), then ask HL to rectify FOC

2) If not agent bike, go to those renown bike shops to have it solve but need to pay

3) If u want to cut cost and DIY, ask some of the riders like ((((R1Rider)))) who is able to help u solve ....

 

basically this sudden cut off of engine has got nothing to do with your battery.

The stalling problem can be due to multiple reasons and can happen to any FI bikes or car.

 

Like Lo-on has explained, that is this known issue due to the mis-calibration or faulty TPS.

 

Other probable cause could be over lean idle CO2 setting. For those facing the problem, pls bring the bike to HL for diagnostic. It is a problem that can be solved.
