yes , u have to be careful, also ask the shop quote u , and then call ntuc direct and get them 2 quote u,

however i got the same result from direct ntuc and albert motor,

from ym point i think bike depreciation is abit diff with car.

 

anyway, its not on straight line basis. 2 me u cannot divide according to the total amount exp20k/10 as at the end of 10 years whn the bike coe die. owner renew at $1400 sell the bike at $1400??? there is value even if there is no more coe left. like vespa sprint, i guess u shld include the acces?

 

i understand there is a few way to calculate depreciation eg, straight line, sum of the years digits, declining balance, acrs, erta and many more, however it is base mostly on market value and how the shop are selling the bike.

 

to addrest ur concern for 600cc, as it is a bike which seems impossible for working purpose(i have seen R1 at bukit merah sending mc delivery) and have affordable fees like maintenance and other think, and is powerful compare to most of the bike. that is why it is popular and depreciation is minimal.

 

yes, exactly bro, thats why i found it strange that a 3 yr old bike could fetch 70% of the cost when purchased brand new. cos with many 2b bikes, after 2 years, price could drop by 40% of the purchase value.

 

not that its a bad thing. minimal depreciation has is pros and cons. its good cos it makes more sense to purchase the bike brand new, but bad cos purchasing a second hand one would not be as much of a 'steal'. i guess high resale value does that.

 

thanks for your input and insights tho. its just something interesting to think about :angel:

btw is it true that for cls 2 sportsbikes if u dont go fast, (sg roads only), is not good for the engine? cos im a local rider. haha dont go up north on bikes.

im not sure abt that, but i guess its 1 of the bullsh@t reason they gave to the police in msia whn they are caught speeding up north, i guess slow as in like traffic jam will cause overheat which is not good 4 enjine

u can still go fast on local rds. but ride within ur limits :thumb:

ermm, okie, insurance should be the same from the same company, diff company got diff rates

bros...recently i noticed my engine oil leaking...nt tat much of a leak..but the leak is noticeable if bike is left overnight etc....any ideas on where i shld repair and do i need to overhaul..??im riding a k5 600 btw...thanks guys... :)

Gasket leaking? If possible to take out fairing den trace where is the leak... Couldn't be EO overflow cos EO overflow will occur when EO is hot & rises...

i'm using IE7.. cant find any compatibility thing on my internet options etc..
