Yes, I've heard Mr Technoflex mentioning about the Techlusion gadget. Basically you can set it to give you a richer mixture for smoother running. Generally speaking: More gas + more air = more power.

As for the bike running lean, is it across the range or just at a apecific window, say between 4500-5000rpm?? The reason I ask this is that some manufacturers do this on purpose. The lean spot is put there to allow the bike to pass emission regulation.

As to the chip, I don't know what it actually does. Do you have a site where there's a write up? http://www.advrider.com/forums/images/smilies/headscratch.gif

I aint sure man.... about the lean issue across the rpms or only at specific ones in my specific case.

Writeup for the chip also very limited..... sheesh...... we are all perfectionist arent we ? when it comes to our machines... kekkeke :cheer: :thumb:

Actually SDR, that heavy fuel smell has been ard for sometime i noticed. I dunno whether the Air/Fuel mixture is properly set.

Can I give a check-list to the? to check on specific items? i want it to be tip-top.

I am not sure if it is gonna do with the setting as yours is injection, i just felt that it shouldnt be. Tot injection was introduced to intelligently controlling fuel/air mixture - I dont know, only experience injection on car, never on bike.

Checklist to any "PROFESSIONAL MECH", yes, of course. Dont compromise & insist them to re-set/do it if your machine is not properly run after service.

May the FORCE be with you.

FORCE them to re-do/set.

FORCE them to listern to you.

FORCE them to follow your instruction.

FORCE them to understand your are a client & not an idiot.

FORCE them to be fair to black hair & yellow skin.

FORCE them to be fair to people dont own BMW CAR or BENZ.

FORCE them to understand the SINGAPOREAN dont kill / cheat SINGAPOREAN.

FORCE them to admit they are incompetent & not bcos of your (_Y_) pipe.

FORCE yourself not to accept excuses like: "IT'S LIKE THAT ONE" , "CANNOT BE" , "YOU NEVER ASK, SO WE DONT DARE TO HELP YOU TO CHECK", "YOUR BIKE IS OLD, SO THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO" & etc...

eh oh k! I will pass message. I tot he is keeping the bike? how come selling?

I am interested in getting his accessories though. LOL.

errr....... dont tink he will sell them separately cos he dont like any fuss. Rather sell the whole bike as it is.

Do let your fren know cos even Mr Technik endorse the bike as good value even if price is higher than those of same age

Basically I know my fren rides hard but he pays HARD too to get the bike tip top :lovestruck:

Ok guys.... the Y-piece has a O2 sensor plug, which allow the standard O2 sensor to be plugged in, thats all. Cyclops, the chip thing is giving me a headache. However, i read from ADVrider that the chip enhances HP etc etc... u can slap on the chip even with the stock exhaust configuration. Read this guy's post. He claims the already stock condition of the bike is already lean... huh???

Read THIS

Hey Gabby, from wat i know, the chip de-restrict the revs thus enabling it to rev higher n more freely :thumb:

If I remember correctly, he uses the BB Power Chip.

http://home.t-online.de/home/bbpower/bmwe.htm

Ok guys, here's my take on things. Shall we look at it from the torque point of view, afterall, its what that turns the wheel. HP can be roughly approximated to top speed but how many times do we actually go there http://www.advrider.com/forums/images/smilies/eek7.gif

So from Suzu's link for the GS1150 twin spark:

Stage 1

http://home.t-online.de/home/bbpower/r15gs1nm.gif

Stage 2

http://home.t-online.de/home/bbpower/r15gs1nm.gif

You need to get above 6K to see the improvement and from 4.5K to 6K its marginal and below that, the bike is actually more sluggish than stock for Stages 1 & 2. Do you ride at 6K and up most of the time??

Stage 3

http://home.t-online.de/home/bbpower/r15gs3nm.gif

# lot of gain

# the bike reach higher top speed

# much less backfire with closed throttle

# impressive torque gain

Needed Parts:

# Premuffler w/o cat

# Endmuffler race type

# TuneUp-Eprom

Thats more like it, good overall gain, but definitely drinks more. And note, the exhaust needs to be fully unrestricted. Shouldn't be difficult with the removable baffles of modern pipes. Are you ok with Loud pipes?

Stage 4

Don't even bother.

So Gabes, if your're looking at this seriously, go for Stage 3 http://www.advrider.com/forums/images/smilies/lurker.gif

And as to whether the chip will cause harm to the wiring harness, logic says no. The more likely causes of wiring problems are shorting thru deterioration of insulation from high current, moisture, damage shielding....... The only stuffs that I see working harder are more to the mechanicals, the pumps and injectors. But working harder that does not mean that they are being unnecessarily stressed. A properly tuned engine will run smother and more efficiently and still pumps out more juice. http://jkhouw.smugmug.com/photos/15999514-Ti-2.gif

I agree with you on ur points. I dunno why the agent said so abt the harness... only moisture can affect the wiring because of old age and breakdown of the rubber and all. Wonder it can be re-wrapped? keke.

Hmmm... I read from a veteran in US. WHo describes having to placed the aftermarket chip involves splitting apart the motronic which gives a higher chance of the motronic failure due to moisture, dust, condensation etc etc.....

And the aftermarket chip is meant specifically help the bike meet emission standards in europe at at higher RPMs eg. 5-7rpm. o_O

The trip, yeah man, don't think I can take such long leave. I'm going on a long holiday with wife in September. So, got to keep some. And plus, the club has some other rides coming up too

No problem with me, wife will be jobless end of June, hope her jacket arrive by then. 3D2N, think you are right, too rush for TK. What about riding backroad all the way to some air-con places or seaside.

Yellow Bird will be most delighted, he can target to scrap his handle bar balancers.

Don't worry lah, if you able to change air/oil filters, change engine / axle oil, plugs, batteries, cables, syn the injection, oil all cables, you are very good. as for valve clearance, just leave it to the professional.

Your future bike will be too compliceted or not possible to DIY. So, hv fun with the present.
