What a big story on the NSH bike / car incident..... Sounds pretty dangerous to me... That aside, I do have some questions to ask all BMW bros here.... Coz I'm finally ready to move on from my Super4.

 

1. I'm 175cm, is the F800GS too high for me? I do prefer my feet to be on the ground and not tip-toe when bike is stationary

2. 1200GS seems too extravagant... over the 800GS, any bros wanna try persuade me otherwise?

3. How's the BMW group in SG? I do hope to get on some trips if I go for a GS

4. New or Used bike?

 

1. You will tip toe, but you'll be resting on the balls of your feet and not your toes. Moreover the F800gs is quite light. so dont worry

2. R1200GS definitely! the 10k plus more u pay is well worth it. Tubeless (r12gs) vs tubed rims(f800gs). Boxer(r12gs) vs parallel twin(f800gs). R1200gs is much more stable at high speeds. Surprisingly R1200Gs handles better than the f800gs even though its larger. This is due to its smaller wheel (19 vs 21 inch) and Telever/Paralever suspension which 800gs doesnt have. better seat comfort on r12gs, 800gs gives u buttaches onlong rides.

Get the R1200gs.

3. BMW group in SG is warm, humble, friendly. Often meet up at PML for Chit chat, coffee etc. Go on rides together. Very nice bunch. Good mix of different races and professions.

4. If unsure, used. if u are v sure with what u want, then u get a new bike. And get from PML not PI.

I am also 1.75m and ride a F800GS......Last bike before this was the R1200gs....love both

 

GS12 is more comfortable when travelling very far distance..Thailand and above....very much more stable on the Highway at high speed

 

F800 is much better on the winding roads as it has better torque to clear out of sharp turns without having to drop gears too often...on the highways, not very stable at high speed

 

Hehehehehe...then comes Off Road....my hobbie lar.....the F800 tumbs up handling in the rough terrian....has brought both the Gs12 and F800 into Endau Rompin and I would say the F800 perform way ahead of the GS12 (reason is Tubed tyres has its advantages in off road riding and dats why all Scramblers are Tubed tyres)

 

Anyway...its your preference and you will enjoy both....

Will a group of elderly BMW riders attack you suddenly for no apparent reason? You must have endangered their lives or pissed them off enough for them to pull u over and punch you. And boy am I glad they did cos from the sounds of it, you are a menace on the roads.

 

Anyway your side of the story is littered with Contradictions..

Hey Hey there u go. Firstly an admission that you are a dangerous driver(travelling 200kph on a 110kph road!). Secondly you admitted you were breaking the Malaysian law so I hope you received a summon when u made your police report.

U said that if you flash your headlights, u think the bikers may not be happy, but on the other hand you found it ok to drive along side and sound your horn? Aint that contradicting yourself?

Sounds like the bike wants to travel faster than you were? So in by ur own definition u are HOGGING the lane! Why didnt u just let him overtake?

You said your near proximity with the convoy probably provoked them. But u just said in the earlier sentence u didnt go near to the convoy!!!! So who is lying, you or you?

 

 

 

 

 

"As a rider common sense, if you see a fast-coming car trying to get thru the convoy, just let the car pass, what they did was HOGGING lane 1 constantly maintaining speed without giving way to me. i do know know what they were thinking.

I think he also made attempt to do a swerving manouvere to try to block me, for watever unknown reasons, i just overtook, ignored and moved on.

Again, if the BMW could tail u, by YOUR OWN definition u were HOGGING the road. So if u see a fast BMW bike trying to get thru, just let him pass. What u did was hogged lane 1. What were u thinking?

please la ppl get real, this happen in Malaysia,, why you ppl think that u ride faster then 110km/h you should hog the right lane? why do you have to bring ur stupid riding or driving habit of hogging the right lane ins singapore over to there, u looking for trouble. i travel up and down, the rule of the thumb is if some one is coming up fast from behind you either give way or u go faster then him, if u insist on blocking their way u are looking for trouble, no one owe it to u that they have to behave on the highway!! If you can't ride faster then 200km/h, or it scare the sh it out of you when someone pass u at 200km/h on the highway when u are hogging the right lane, please do your self a favor stay at home, don come crying or punching ppl when some one pass u this way intentionally or otherwise!!! Please ride safely, keep to the left lane if u can. remember right lane if for overtaking, (unless traffic jam) no one owe u the right of way !! dun bother to reply me i won be back here. any way for that boxing uncle who punch tat guy, once u decided to punch someone, i have lost respect of u, if u not game enough stay home please!

I do not think road hogging was ever an issue here. Point is, this driver tried to murder his friend and her convoy of riders with his stunt driving.

i read this incident of Mito incident alog NSH with great interests.

after reading your side of story, Mito, i guess your actions are dangerous to fellow riders, and u claim u are a rider yourself. why must u follow closely at such high speed, u may just hit into any of the riders. u thought u are driving in singapore? closely follow another car in front of u, only at 80-90km/hr. u are doing it at more then double of this speed. are u sure u can handle it?

 

y must u look for a 'beating; in pagoh petol staion again. u really ask for it.

 

i suggest u review your style of driving/riding, please do some reflections. u are looking for more trouble in future, if u maintain that u are 'right' in this incident.

 

i ride and drive too. understand how both parties behalf. your style really fighten me.

 

u must have felt sorry for yourself cos u are beaten up. but do u think u deserve it? u are really something, create trouble and complain about it.

can u think of what will happen if u accidently hit one of your fellow riders up there along NSH? u are going to kill some folks, u know? that is murder.

 

as rider, we know it is very difficult to wave at friends along expressway, even we may chance upon or friends in car or along pathway. and u must insist on following soooooo close to get to your lady friend. why must u do so? trying to hurt her? once she respond to u, she may put herself in a dangerous situation. she should concentrate on her ride and not U!
