Any of new GS riders here feel the biting pt of the bike is very strong? Pai sei to admit, I'm losing confidence in tight space slow speed maneuvers, coz whenever it bites, i'm kinda fearful the bike will lurge fwd.

New GS rider here too. Guess got to get use to it. Usually for tight space I will do it at 1/2 clutch, will fan the clutch and letting go slowly.

Cheers

3.00 ringgit equal to 1.25 sin, change rate is 2.4, sin petrol cheapest 1litre cost 2dollar plus,is half price, so is still worth to go in pump, unless ur bike tank is less than 33litres.

what coolcat said is very true. i would suggest don't inherent such cheapo mentality unless you are least important in society and find yourself have a lot to kill. afterall you had reach this level of riding a bmw gs adventure and you can't afford to pump petrol in singapore. i seriously think that your maths sucks. if you would have dbs card you get 17 percent off your petrol bill will come down to around 1.75. you will never run dry to pump in jb. assuming you get 30 litres and save 15 dollars sing and what about your wears on tyres and changing engine oil and filter and major servicing with a higher expenses earlier ? clocking more mileage will eventually affect your resale in your future. many give themselves some crap reasons for supper and ciggarettes ended up with unhealthy lifestyle becoming fat and unfit. is up to oneself to take my words seriously or someone going to hate me and trying hard to find out who i am, all these are unnecesary because they are base on true facts and figures. this is life, be smart or be stupid is up to you.

Riding a GSA does not mean u have reached a higher level compared to other riders riding other makes of bikes. Its just another bike.

At the same time, pumping in JB is not a stupid thing.

Pump 32.16 Litres of Ron 95 at RM1.90/Lit at GP on Friday 18 May...still very worth it to me.

Same sentiments here...really worth the fortnightly ride in..

Depending on situations i find that biting point with zero throttle is good enough for slow speed manoveurs..

I pump in jb too.. In fact all my bikes are msian "oriented" petrol.

BMW,KTM, Japanese bikes we are all bikers, no such thing as being the 'special' breed..

Let's ride together, enjoy together and most importantly look out for one another.

What's an ADVENTURE??

EVERYTHING!!

This is actually funny.... Some people believe they are smart for pumping in JB. But some people are really stupid for thinking they are a special breed cos they're riding a BMW. Nothing special if you ask me.

Pussycat theory is one of its kind. haha

Maybe he is not there yet in society to perceive riding a GS is special level.

Don't worry Puss, you will reach there soon. Work hard for it.I am also working towards that level

On the other end, I am curious what's the sacrifice one takes to ride a GS? What's the average annual income for a GS rider. GSA certainly don't come cheap ...any bro care to share.

BTW PML just got dealership for Touratech, So it's GSA will come with a complimentary set of side panniers from Touratech. Model I cant recall, something Pro.. All in price around 48K only.

wow..

didn't know when ride a beemer got another level?

thats why lah..

when i ride my GSA, i'm in "GOD MODE" sia..

and yes, i'm a cheapo. I pump in JB. when in SG, i pump only $10 worth of petrol. no, i dun have a DBS card to get the 17%. always 5% off only.

talking about wear and tear, might as well dun ride if u are too worried about wear and tear. Buy the GSA, keep at home. no wear and tear at all. no need to see @papabread79 best friend aka kris every 10000kms.

Placebo-effect can be contagious.

I am glad that no one else here think that he/she have reach a certain level.

Topping up petrol at GP/JB is a natural thing to do if time and space permits.

Me too...every 10k need to get some BA from papabread79 best buddy @pml.

Hi tofuman

Saw your earlier post wrt just changing out the OEM header to a performance header w/o 'cat' and using back the OEM end can.

I did that too and this is what i experienced:

Slight surge/lack in acceleration from idle at stops and can be annoying.

Notice my exhaust area near the left foot is not so hot i.e no 'cat' = cooler air flow feeling.

Popping from exhaust slightly louder.

Overall performance increased slightly.

To correct the surge/lack defect:

Installed a performance street legal end can which correct the surge/lack issue.

However the Popping from the exhaust became really loud during rapid decel or sudden throttle closure after accel.

To reduce the loud Popping:

Installed a device that override the OEM IAT sensor to deceive the ECU into sensing the outside air temp is at -20'C which causes the ECU to maintain a richer mixture during the acceleration portion.

This reduced the Popping from the exhaust to a acceptable level.

Another way is to fit a Power commander which is very costly as suggested by eclee13.

where to get that IAT sensor override?

S$0.78/L (RM1.90 @ 2.45 exchange rate) x 33L = S$25.74

S$1.995/L x 33L = S$65.83

Difference per tank: S$40.09 which can buy you and a friend a very nice dinner before/after pumping petrol in JB + a RM10 bike wash with $ to spare
