In Singapore, should use 15W40 min base on the chart due to climate condition, unless u going to North Thailand anytime soon..

Doubt it man. Unless you use castrol car oil. I have seen only 20w40, 15w40 and 10w50. BMW has a business deal with castrol thus the manual recommends it. Also take note 5w40 SAE grades tend to breakdown faster compared to let day 10w40 cos they add more VIs to give it lower viscosity at low temp.

Any oil is better then no oil. For our climate don't think we need to stick to 5w40

Definitely not car oil, though it's really hard to get 5w40 bike oil, so far only seen ipone selling them at Bukit Merah lane.

F8gsa vs r12gs. Should ask how deep your pocket goes. Though if you ask me how to describe the 2, it's like a mule vs a horse. Both have their strength and weakness. F8 being the mule, R12 being the horse.

Is there a secret number to call PML parts? I tried calling the listed number on their website for 2 days left messages and nothing.

I am amazed at this for a premium brand. Similar experiences? How does this work? Do we have to go down personally to get service?

... what you looking at? Never seen a cow that wants to go places ????! ...

63190560 bmw parts . This no u call ?

Or 63190539 .

Yup, from here: http://www.bmwmotorrad.com.sg/contact_pml/

I called a bike sales guy who helpfully put me through to the parts dept where I left a second message. It's amazing that I get better telephone service at LTA than PML.

Cheers
