Hi guys,

I'm planning to get F800GS or F700GS.

Can anyone advise if F800GS worth the extra $$?

Plan to use the bike for daily commute to work only.

Further, I'm quite short, so 1200GS is definitely out of my reach.

How to verify the used bike is actually from PML? Call to ask?

Thanks.

ans : Hi just to share , I own a F650gs twin, it using the same engine with the F800GS or F700GS Twin. i had the same thought as you before i committed on the F650GS Twin. In term of the height and daily usage for a more comfort ride. I'm standing at 168cm and the F650gs / F700gs is the choice.

ans: give PML a call to check whether is it register under PML or ask the owner to produce servicing records.

Collecting my F700gs soon. Also using for commute. Likes..shorter,tubeless tyres vs tubed in 800. Looks wise, i thought the 800 looked more garang and they also had glacier white. You do lose 10hp to the 800. Like they say..dont hope to catch the 1200 on highway...i can live with this...can you?

How to know its from PML ... I think hey dont sell thru anyone else..so go to pml at alexandra road i guess...

Thank, please share with us when you got your F700GS.

My speed chasing era already over, prefer torque over top speed.

Agreed with you, F800GS has more aggressive outlook as compare to F700GS.

Thanks! I'm standing 170cm, so seat height is a big deciding factor that affect my bike choice.

My honest suggestion is to go to PML and ask and sit on the bikes. Thats the best way to decide.

Hi Sev,

I too was in a dilemma when making the same decision. I ended up with my F7 and have been riding it for a week now. So far im loving my new ride as it fits my needs. My decision making factors below (you might have to find your own factors) :

1. Im 171 n i feel the height is just right for me. I have to tiptoe on the F8 which i worry might cause discomfort when stopping for long periods.

2. F7 has tubeless wheels which is a plus for me. Having experience with an rxz (spoke) n super4 (tubeless) i know the disadvantages of having spokes on sg roads.

3. Lastly is the need. I didnt want to pay 4k extra for better looks and off-road features (which i will never use).

To each his own. Just my 2cents. All the best in picking up ur new bike! Maybe we could have a meet up with other parallel twins someday. :)

Hi bro, I agreed with all your points.

I rode enduro few years ago (rode weekly ah kuang trip and Tanah merah- before I stopped riding after my wife gave birth).

I prefer F800GS' look with a hint of off road gene.

Although it might not survive ah kuang trip, but I can still do some easy ride at punggol.

Will find a time to visit PML to have a look at these 2 bikes.

Guys ive been riding F7 for 13.5 months so shld be able to give some gd feedback..

1. Im 1.72 and the height is just nice for me even after rear shock got seasoned. Can almost flat both feet with pillion, vario and 55l top. But i dont feel confident when i need to reverse backward on a slope.

2. Totally happy with the tubeless, no issue so far but my fren changed his tube 3 times on f8.

3. Power wise I dun need the extra torque and hp cuz its alrdy fast enuff to compete with similar cc sports bike.. hit 180kph before.

4. Its v agile for a class 2 bike due to the low cg.. cant give comparison with f8.

5. Been to endau rompin and its still gd despite the conventional front shock and sports rim.

6. Avg abt 20 to 21km/l mixed urban and highway. 24 to 25 on 90% highway. But its v petrol sensitive to me. Works best on shell only.

The only cons will be the tiny whiny windshield.

Like u said u are using for local road, its more than enuff.

Cheers

That round thing is for diagnostic. Don't even think about splicing. Usually the fuzeblock is tapped direct to the battery. Cheers.
