Want to buy a(Class 2B).

 

Bro over here, need some help on procedure for buying used bike from other person?

Currently the COE end in next year.

 

What are the legal procedure like?

-Buying insurance / Transferring Insurance

- Renew Road Tax

-Pay HDB Parking Slot

 

Anything else or anything incorrect.

You can get a bike shop to oversee the transfer and insurance procedures for you but that is much slower than getting a half day off and chionging the transfer to completion.

 

@asakura_hao88 just bought a Phantom by private sales. I'll just illustrate the timeline in point form for brevity:

 

2 Saturdays ago he did mechanical inspection and test ride to ascertain machine condition and if the asking price is ok. An informal "offer to purchase" was made.

Later last week he bought NTUC 3rd party insurance on the number plate of the bike.

Then on Saturday he and the seller met up at LTA Sin Ming and transferred registration using their NRICs and the insurance cert. Best to have insurance ready in advance to save time.

 

That's it, pay road tax, and ride away!

U can do wat pandora suggested... Can be a bit leceh.. Need to queue to get insurance, then need to queue at LTA.... Just go to bike shop and let them do everyhing.. Just pay a bit of fee. Nowadays easy coz they do online... insurance can issue covernote 1st..

 

But ownership transfer from bike shop to new owner can do online.. Immediate.. But owner to owner... Hmmm.. Can somebody who knows clarify?
