It really depends on your preference and budget.

If you are willing to spend a little more, a 1198/1098/999 will be lots of fun to ride and attract tons of attention because it looks great and sounds great. Many Ducati clubs are also generally more active than Japanese sport bike clubs if you're the gathering sort. Parts are easy to get in Singapore or on Ebay and resale value is typically good for an exotic machine.

Other fairly popular Supersport exotica include the very reasonably priced RC8 and the 4-cylinder F41000r from MV Agusta.

BMW's S1000rr performed very well in international tests as well, but there aren't that many in Singapore so you may have trouble finding buddies on the same bike. Those same tests however did indicate that the 2011 zx10 would give the Beemer a run for it's money.

If you're on a tight budget, you can also try

CBR1000, R1, GSXR1000 or Kawasaki's ZX10r.

If you want something more agile, you can try one of the middleweight 600s like the r6 mentioned above. They have enough power, but not excessive power. So if you don't want to always be revving the tits off your machine, try to get a larger displacement.

In other words, without, letting us know what you want out of the bike, I will basically recommend everything because there isn't anything lousy about any of the modern bikes IMHO. Nowadays, it boils down to 3 things, looks, sound and price.
