Yup, I went to a few shops along Changi and was told they don't bring it in anymore. I was hoping some bros here might know so that I can narrow down my search.

Don't quote me but I have heard from reliable sources that they are trying to kill off the DRZs or any bike that uses a carburettor. They will allow new model fuel injected bikes to be brought in only...part of their grand plan of 'clean' air.

They have already killed the 2 strokers... the non fuel injected bikes are next.

You can look at it another way... used DRZ prices are going to rocket up soon.

Afternote: I honestly hope the sources I am hearing this from are wrong.

Have you tried Mah Motors at Serangoon Rd? That's where I got mine new back in Jan for a pretty good price.

I start with disadvantages.

- vibey motor.

- poor pillion comfort.

- no storage room. Don't look good with top case.

- lots of mods to do so have to be careful.

- tubed tire. Either change to tubeless wheels or do conversion.

Advantages

- FUN. I rode the cb600 at driving school and this back to back, my drz was many times more fun than that big buggar.

- economical. Even with mods, FC is good around 23km/l.

- easy maintenance. One spark plug. 2 liters engine oil changed monthly for bar performance.

Hope this helps.

Sorry. Spark plug changed not monthly. Typo. Maybe half a year or up to you. Last I changed was a year ago. No difference to me.

hi there , im planning to get a dr-z , im fairly new , my first and current bike is Spark , I really wanna ride this bike , but my friends say it will be boring on the expressway or long distance and im afraid it will be boring as I dont have kakis that are interested in motards .. so , my question is , is it manageable to ride a drz ? any common problems , what are differences with any model ?

Hey guys.. I think before the SM model there was the E model with the usual telescopic fork. The SM has the USD forks. Slight difference in the cams also I think.

Common problems are mostly due to inappropriate maintenance, prolonged use of engine oil. Normal coil burnt, front countershaft sheared off(sth that u must check if you're planning on getting a used model). There's a sticky by bro biting point on the first page for the common problems.

Yes it's boring to ride on expressways. But at least it's comfortable. Sth I left out is the ride posture. It's a love/hate thing. Some people curse this bike cos of the posture. But I love it. Up to you to judge. But bear in mind we're talking about a supermoto here. It doesn't do straight lines, it likes corners and jumps and bumps... That's why it's fun. Can go up curbs and walkways and stairs.

Why would a DRZ be boring on expressways? I've been riding mine since Jan and I'm enjoying every ride.

The best thing about this bike to me is how versatile it is. Specced the right way, you can take it on the asphalt track, go offroad trailing, and long-distance touring.

Once I head up to Malacca and back next Tuesday, I'd have done all three. :)

Well. Its not the boring till u dread doing it again type. Just that there are better bikes at doing long distance cruising that's all.

the road here are limited to 90..yeah sometimes u go 100-110, any faster i think is a bit crazy unless ure talking middle of the nite. so a DRZ can easily handle this type of speed especially if u play ard with the size of the rear sprocket.

for the SM, there are agent model and the import ones, diff is the cush drive and smaller headlights. the rest is the same.
