hi guys, i want to self-bid for a Cat D COE (bike).. if the current QP is $1.5K and i expect it to drop to about $1.3K, so how much should I bid? i know that the quota for bike is always over-subscribed but I need to get the COE before March (only left 4 more bidding exercises)...

so what are the chances of getting it with lets say a $1K bid? Or what say those experienced or knowledgable brothers here? how much should i bid? thanks in advance!

If you think it will drop to 1.3k, bid 1.3k. That's it.

If you can afford and want to spend max 1.4k on COE, bid 1.4k.

Will COE drop? We never know. The only direction price going is up.

Agree with this 1. Anyway, if what u predicted is right, u will get back 100bucks if u bidded 1.4k, isnt it?

Guys, ride safely. Road is not for playing.

thanks bros...

i think i will bid around $1.3K to be safer.. if not successful will try again until March as my Spec1 COE expires then.. if not i will just de-register and scrap lor..

yes if i bidded excess they will use the balance to offset registration fees first.. then refund if got balance.. hmm its really tough predicting the QP in the topsy turvy market..

hope i am successful.. wish me luck! and thanks again..

in summary, you need to pay the prevailing quota premium (PQP), which is the average of the last 3 months bidding results (2 bids x 3 months = 6 bids)

Hi lips

That's my bike that you're sitting on.... Really weird seeing someone else on my bike. You're from Temasek Poly? Anyway it's advisable that you do not do so in the future. As a rider, I hope you understand.

I'm not a rider at that time.

Nice bike that you have there.

I am in excact same situation as you, must get bike before March 2011. I have done this a few cycles already so shearing with you...

I assume you are in no hurry to buy bike, like me....

I kept bidding $1000 for the past months hoping that I will catch a low COE month (so far none). I will be biddding $1300 too next week.

When it comes to the time you must get your COE, just bid $2000.

The system is is whatever price you bid, as long as the COE price is lower than what you bidded, you will get it and pay that lower price. ie, you bid $2000, COE is $1503, you still pay $1503.

Hope I answered your question clearly
