Help needed. Anybody here knows why is there a rattling 'clang clang clang' sound when i slowed down (off throttle, without pressing any brakes)? It sounded like the chain hitting against something. I tightened the chain. Initially, the sound goes off but now its back. (The chain remained at the same position when i checked the indicator at the side). Any idea where is the sound coming from?

Its the chain hitting on the swing arm. Chain is loose and if constant tightening is needed, that means the chain need to be replaced.

Lube ur chain. Pls dun use wd40. Use a proper chain lube

if still have sound, check if slack is too much, may be hitting ur swing arm

Another way to chck chain, is park on main stand, spin the back wheel with ur hand n see if the chain become tighter or loose when chain is moving, chain could be out of shape or some link is loose. A constant tension means its still in good shape

Chain not straight can also cause sound.

Your may also chck your chain guide, it is the long piece of rubber tat sits between ur chain n swing arm

Pardon for my singlish. Cheers!

U got it from shop? If from shop, jus go make noise.

Engine oil leak from where?

Get your fuel cock fix first! Fire hazard if its leaking petrol

For the electric start, its pretty normal to throttle a bit, its a 2b bike

Cheers!

Hi guys,

I'm getting a FZ16ST from a direct owner. I notice that the heat from the engine block is a bit overwhelming. Is it a common issue? How can I check if the condition is at acceptable range?

Your kind advise would be of great help to me!

From which shop?

From Heng Motor.

I brought it back, they adjusted the idling. I think it could be that the battery level is low...

I need to press the electrical starter for a little while then the engine will start.

Is it overwhelming? I don't know, I think as long as you are on the move, it should be okay. I just gotten a FZ16, I think it's not bad :)

FZ16 has a worldwide known issue for it's self start ignition, some worse some not, depends on your luck, mine was worse, I have pushed start my bike for countless times in the morning, same thing even after changing battery and ignition coil. if you have a kick start, try using that.

Hi guys,

Looking forward to join the fz16 bike families. After reading the posts, this would be an ideal bike for me in terms of performance & reliability.

Anyone looking to upgrade, I have a Honda Vtec 1 (COE 2020) to swap with your Fz16. Do pm me to discuss further. Thanks!

Hello. I've been riding super 4 for 3 years and i recently rode my friend's fz16. I have a few things to comment and i would like an input as to whether I'm pointing out is normal for a class 2b bike (is it just me) or genuine problems to look into. (After not riding a 2b bike for 3 years).

1) the brakes on it is kinda weak. Both front and rear. I've adjusted the brakepads, bleed the brakes, changed to helhose brakeline and even change to a new disc brake, but stopping is really weak. An example would be riding it around 40km/h and fully pressing the lever, bike gradually slows down as compared to a s4 where it immediately stops.

2) the clutch tightness. Changed clutch cables and service religiously but it seems very 'weak'. Could it be a worn clutch plate? It's just 2 years old.

3) main stand does not really put the rear wheel up.

Now before i get comments like "oh you should know better if you claim to ride s4 for 3 years" do take note that my last 2b bike was 4 years back and it was a modded SP with tight brakes and responsive clutch.

Please guys.. is it just me.. or is the bike problems I've described is something to look into.

thanks!

I can input ur point 3.

On stock tyres and no box, the main stand really work.

maybe ur fren has change the tyre before.

1. Brakes seem ok on my friend's bike. Maybe the rear brake has to be adjusted for more confidence. After all, u came from using front double disc, rear disc brakes on the s4. Since its a 2 yr old bike, maybe the brakepads need changing. U didn't change tt part.

2. Maybe ur clutch plates worn tts why have to tighten the cables. My friend's bike quite easy to clutch in. Easier than my own DR650 i.might add, even with new cables and clutch plates.

3.bigger tyres tend to create problem with point 3. My friend's bike changed tyres recently and the bike height also increased by about an inch.

My advise, check ur clutch plates and brakepads. If aft all this u still feel the same way, then remember, it's made in india. Heeeeee

Oh yah, when i pillion my fren on the bike, it takes 6k+ rpm just to hit 90kmh.
