increased rim size usually comes with increase of tyre width and lower of tyre wall ht. that being the case, the cornering is better as the tyres are stiffer and there is more grip but of course on the flip side will slow the car down by a bit and the ride will be less comfy

 

wheel base is actually simply the distance of the wheels from front to back. longer wheelbase usually = bigger longer car. sometimes people take this to mean bigger interior which may not be true.

 

of course bigger rims also look cooler , all things equal....

changing to bigger rims is the simplest and most effective way to make a car look better instantly.
