Hi, anybody know where i can get a good pair of normal black riding boots which water don't go in so easily on rainy day together with rain coat on? Please advise if you know the place where i can go take a look. Budget is below $100. Thanks.

I would recommend a pair of Magnum boots use by the police special forces.

Cost about $150+ very comfortable for walking and confirm waterproof.

It doesn't make any difference whether a motorcyclist has the right-of-way or not, the rider is the one most likely to get hurt.

The problem with these type of riding boots is that you will look weird and awkward wearing them in shopping centre or walking around anywhere.

They are meant for riding alone and nothing else.

You can get Magnum boots at:

Sporting House Pte Ltd

Blk.3023

Ubi Road 3

#06-20

Ubiplex 1

Tel: 6745 9530

I bought the Magnum ER1 Boots (Waterproof) for $160 in last year Feb. and wear it everywhere, to work, to Orchard road, etc; daily, just love it, very comfortable.

PS: You have to call up the "shop"/office to order and again to call them up to collect your boots or else nobody will be there to meet you.

This address is like a office or wharehouse and they don't usually do walk in business, they are more in supplying to large organisation like the police or army, I think.

You can check out Magnum boots web address at

why no one ever consider King's safety boot? relatively cheap and available easily. quite comfortable wearing the whole day. it has steel toe protection and you may wanna thank the steel toe one day. it has save my toes ones.

For motorcycling use, please get dedicated motorcycling boots. Magnum boots may be good for tactical use, but they are not built for motorcycling. Same goes for safety boots; they are not built for the job.

If you want something that you can walk in, get touring boots. Though they are not as armoured as the racing kind, they are still built for the purpose.

i have been using magnum boots for about 3 years till i recently change to king's. my first pair lasted 2 years of daily use and i used them for work as well. though they are not dedicated biking stuff but they do their job well and gave good protection. i change gears without problems and without having to adjust my style or settings and i still can get a good feel using the rear brakes.

comfort wise i can't comment due to the fact that i have not got into one before but i can attest that magnum is comfortable to be worn the whole day long.

king's boots has been proven and tested. they are tough to beat but comfort wise it is no where near magnum i had before but a pair of in soles solved the problem. just because they are being used by construction workers and not being look after at, they look ugly. however if you keep it clean, brush it with kiwi, i can use it for formal wear without anyone noticing that's the same old shoes bangla wear. i have also never seen a torn kings boots as well, just seasoned neglected ones. for 45 bucks (midcut) and 70 bucks(zippered hi cut) they are hard to beat and does the job well in giving comfort, assurance and protection. steel toe shoes saved my toes once from a superman slide after attempting a corner. the leather was shaved off exposing the steel. it did a very good job in protecting me one way or another.

to each his own if getting dedicated stuffs for riding.

cons on Magnum- china made, overpriced. will still get one more when there's a close out saleor there's a good deal.

wat abt FORMA boots ? i just got them !

Forma is good. Very good for touring. But I think its not comfy for daily use as its too high and can get really hot for the legs. Other that that, its perfectly fine. Too bad I gotta sell mine to make way for the Puma ones.... hehe...

Agree with your view that only boots make for motorcycling is suitable to riding because they give maximum protection from motorcycle accident.

Just prepare another pair of shoes to change into immediately after riding and it will be fine.

Time will tell, buy what is suitable for you.

King's safety boots or shoes are made for industrial use and they provide protection from falling objects, slipping and stepping on nails or sharp objects.

They are not design for riding and they are stiff and heavy.

I tried them for riding before but find that the feels is quite bad.
