Revision of Class 2 license system

You guys trying find a logic where it doesn't exist. Catching black cat in dark room if the cat is not there. Some "smart" fella N years ago decided to reduce number of accidents on the road by introducing some multi-stage system. He simply copied the system from I don't know where. The system reduced the accidents and that fella must be very proud of himself. The fact that it is not optimal doesn't touch him. To separate the stage, they built some stupid courses and everyone is happy now. Except bikers.

Japan. Our motorbike tests are almost an exact replica. The reason why they chose it was that Japan had the lowest number of motorcycle fatalities in the developed world at that point.

its been more than a year. when i first made this hoo-ha, i was taking my class 2a. now i'm riding a class 2 bike.

 

of coz i dun regret doing it lah, even though i riding class2 bike now, my opinions regarding the issue remains the same.

 

but honestly, i've sent the letter with the names of some supporters, and they've given me the reply which i posted a few pages back. i dun see wat else i can do. they're not gonna keep me in the loop, thats for sure. for all i noe they've dismissed the idea.

 

bottomline though, i dun regret writing in and i still feel the same way.

I think maybe give it 5~10 years time, perhaps they finally get round to looking at reviewing it.

in the australia system,

 

Learner licence: pass theory .. can ride up to 125cc within town area meaning they cannot go up freeway(highways)

 

Provisional licence

 

and

 

professional licence

minus pt ... u hv to get ur own motorcycle to the learning center

 

plus pt ... they hv better and much comprehensive learning system.

 

 

imagine if there is an automatic upgrade in motorcycle classes ...

meaning

with the attitude sg ppl hv ... they would say lets wait for another yr and we can buy a bigger bike ...

 

so wat will happen to bike retailers and their livelihood?

imports of variety of bikes will become lesser

 

only corncen is that class 2 bikes BHP are getting higher ....i tink they shd do something abt that

hi thought I'd revive this topic. My suggestion is Class2b:up to 250cc,

Class2A: up to 500cc, Class2:500cc & above, Special "Learner" class : up to 125cc

(an option for total beginners, young riders, unconfident riders, or watever)

 

I think this the best solution esp with regards to the changing engine displacement options round the worldwide, also I think its a good mix of the various systems being used in other countries.

 

Cos I'm sure there are ppl who may not want to ride above 250cc (i'm one of them) or above 125cc even. Personally my dream bike is a 250cc and I dont wanna the hassle of taking class2A just to get one. Cheers and hope this proposal is finally accepted by LTA. I think in malaysia its this system ?

class2b up to 250 just so that a minority few can hop onto a rs250 straightaway.. i rather they start from the rs125.

 

class2a up to 500? what other bikes can i buy between the 400-500cc cat? like no diff putting at 400 or 500.

 

class2 is no limit le. no need say anything.

maybe 2A till 600cc la .. at least still gt bikes to get..
