My molar is hurting, called NTUC dental care, can only make earliest 1 week appointment away! What about those Q&M dental, are they any good? Have heard stories of dentist standards nowadays, very money minded, first root canal, then crown.... I just want a good dentist to pull out the decay tooth, no need to cosmetically save it. How much would a molar extraction generally costs?

Unfortunately, recently I had a wisdom tooth extraction, went to polyclinic, was told got waiting list, of around 2-3 months. So bo pian, ride to a private dental at Woodlands, called Woodgrove Dental. Did the surgery then...

Total bill for 1 wisdom tooth = 665.. And realized my medisave not enough.... So did cash top up.

But overall, still quite happy, because at least no need wait, and now, no more pain =D

Sorry didn't answer your question, just wanted to show you mental support!

P.S I'm terrified of dentists..

If u can wait, Polyclinic is the best choice as u get subsidised rate.

@cougar, I would suggest you to book a cleaning session (cost ard $60), get diagnose from the dentist abt your teeth health. Your toothache may be caused by decay tooth and may need immediate attention before it gets serious later. :goodluck:

Hi Bros,

I am not working for the dental clinic trust me I don't really like dentists. you can try this clinic,

its in UBI though, its called UBI DENTAL CLINIC, if im not wrong it is now owned by IDENTAL SURGEONS. rates are definately cheaper than Q&M and they don't force medication down your throat and make your wallet too heavy, from what I understand, lower end braces (same as gov) costs an estimate of $3.4k or so? which is about + - $500 cheaper than gov. you get specialized treatment and they treat you like you're the ****in sultan of singapore.

its definately not dodgy. not too sure about the other prices for other treatments but you guys ought to give it a try;)

Think there was an t article somewhere, that described the cheapest dental services are during National Service Time.

haha of course, during national service , most dental treatment is provided for. in fact, most dentists are outsourced and are not SAF dentists these days ( thank God ) I know cos my own dentist (ubi dental clinic) was working in my old camp and she told me. and they are usually really pretty, nice, etc etc

Aiya, i dont qualify to go in camp anymore. I dont want pretty nice dentists, i just need those with steady hands. The ntuc dental guy is quite good. Clean extraction of my molar without surgery.

Yeah I know what you mean, hard to find a good and honest dentist nowadays. I used to work with a dentist called Dr Justin Saga. He's really good at what he does. He's a really nice and honest guy, he doesn't do fillings just for the sake of doing them. He only performs treatments if they are necessary and in the best interest of the patients. He once told me, he wants to be able to sleep well at night and have a clear conscience.
