Date: 31 October 2010 Sunday

Meet up : 5.30am at Causeway JB Shell (first petrol station on the left after the woodlands causeway)

 

Road type : 100% trunk roads

 

JB to Mersing Jetty (130km) : Breakfast

Mersing to Endau Rompin (85km) : Waterfall!!

 

After waterfall, back to JB for massage and bike wash. Can drop anywhere in between for late lunch. Estimated to end at JB by 5pm.

as for the bike, I will most probably use jbat's suspension for the time being and hopefully i can get the wiring sorted out over the weekends.. thanks for the concern over my bike guys... will get it fixed..

You will be shocked to find out how little this might actually cost u. The blackbird just like my Vara, Is an aging giant. Many a time, plug connectors and some wiring is bound to come loose or can even burnt when the electrical system is not as sound anymore. I used to have an idiotic problem with my vara where she will cut off at certain angles. Sensing it might br a fuel flow ot air flow problem, I replaced my air filter, then my fuel pump and then the fuel filter. Tot I could have solved the problem, sadly still there, so round two, changed plugs ( threw away my iridiums and put in normal plugs) changed fuses, and even cut off my spotlights just in case they were the problem. After spending so much, nothing solved the problem and one fine day, went to Hkl and the mechanics there spotted the issue, JUST A BURNT CONNECTOR PLUG IN THE LEFT FAIRING...

 

He replaced the plug head and wallah, all is well after that. Cost me a mere $20.00.

In fact my scenario was very close to what coolfire experienced at the ATV joint in Melaka where it was simply a loose cable, and yours could very well be the same prob. A $20.00 one.

 

True bro...when i got my BB,the tacho goes erratic. Shop asked me to change either meter,harness or ecm...In the end i spend a dollar juz on connectors..but it took me 2 weeks to find the problem..

 

Sujak :- What i think rite,yours could either be bank sensor connector,fuel pump connector or even the connectors near the fusebox

I too had that problem. I i found out the one of my wires was burned to see the copper. scary.

It not the bike you ride. It the group you are in. Some nice group, some like ****. (sorry). It the company you are with and how you blend into the group. I am in a group KOPI KAKIS we ride all different bike but we just like to sit around and chit chat. So nothing to worry... We did had our fun during the last ride correct?

Model: HO 203

From other US forums,the shock have the same mounting points of blackbird,so I post here.

 

Shock needs to be service before use.

I had checked with sporting motor and was quoted $180 inclusive of servicing,oil,seal and installation to the bike plus basic setting.

Bro sujak.. total 900plus spend on a 2nd hand rear absorber? a bit steep lor... spend a bit more for a brand new with no worries. or else if budget constrain den go for a brand new hyperpro.

i was thinking of buying the hyperpro rear suspension with the front spring for $950 at motor world.. den i saw the ohlin.. not sure if it is worth it coz the ohlins need to send for servicing and etc.. brand new better than 2nd hand rite hahaha.....

But that ohlins will peform like new ones once overhauled...Trust me..I also wanted ohlins for my suspension but budget low plus i find ohlins have linear springs on it. Kind of abit harsh ride on trunk roads comparing the progressive spring...

wah????... $750 for the second hand rear absorber and $180 for the servicing... thats not even including the front sets of ohlins springs.

 

HKL selling brand new complete set for $1800 for front and rear, this where got almost half price? bro jbatracer doubts is also my doubts, will it still works as new after the over hauled???

 

Hope I'm not offending anyone here but we too shouldn't try pushing sales in here. let him decide and weigh for himself which is more important as his big day also drawing near:)
