1) nothing that you cant buy... just u must have the cash.... Akrapovic got 4-2-2 headers and pipes... its legal...

 

2) UM did my de link at 450sgd and price included the hel brake hoses... a little soft but proven it works (UM will advise you to change the after market pump kit if you hav that extra cash)

 

3) I just changed RCS19 and RCS16 (1k complete set) its really works great... especially the clutch!!! and the brakes is good too... what can i say??? its Brembo... :)

On our brake caliper,there's two inlet ports to control the outer 2 pistons and 1 inner piston..Pluging the center inlet port will disable the center piston thus reducing brake peformance by 30%...

 

Unless you intend to modify the calipers by drilling a hole to link the center piston bore to the outer ones then you can plug the inlet port and use only 2 brake hose method...Very leceh method...

Bro, CBS is a good thing for street rideability. Personally I love it, because it allows me to brake with just the front brake. This is especially useful when riding in our S'pore traffic, especially squeezing through traffinc on expressways. Without the CBS you need to standby your rear foot on the rear brake in case you need to slow and stop suddenly. With CBS, all it takes is a finger on the lever and it squeezes the rear brake for you also.

 

When riders delink and report a better response, you also have to consider: did the better response come from new hoses + new brake fluid + proper bleeding, or did it come from the de-linking itself?

 

If given a choice, I would buy a model equipped with CBS to one without. Think twice before you spend all that money to delink it.

Hi guys, i may not have ridden or rather owned a BB before, but i sure owned the Varadero1000 with the same CBS technology before.... All i can say is, if you know how the CBS works and how it helps the bike esp a fastand heavy one like the BB stop, I dont think you will have ever considered the de-linking.... The CBS has its way of working on percentages of 60% front and 40% rear and its a very advanced system that is still used today on the Latest Honda models....even the VFR 1200 F.

 

My two cents will be never to delink, and challenge what the engineers at Honda, have spent ALOT of money researching.... A cheaper alternative is also a very dangerous alternative... Cos now, even though you may have better braking response at lower speeds, you are at a HUGE loss at higher speeds cos not all your pistons are working....

 

Like what Bro Jbat has highlighted, it takes a bit of work to get all pistons werking.... With a fast bike like the BB and with the way its usually ridden on the NSHW, its a handicap at high speed... cos you may not have the stopping power of all 6 pistons up front and the 2 in the rear. A sure compromise on safety...

 

I also agree with Middle aged Biker that if i were to buy a BB and it has been delinked, its a sure no go for me. Like i said, its handicapped unless you upgrade to aftermarket callipers that will provide the needed bite on the rotors.

 

Try as you may, without these callipers, braking distance will be hugely affected slowing down from a possible 250-280 kmph speed and surely can be scary if the rear locks up or maybe even the front.

 

Like i said, this is my two cents.... safety should not be compromised for a lil added cost, and for bros like Zesture and JimmyZ, at least upgrades were done to their brake master cylinders thru the RCS 19 brembos..... The much needed addition in oil flow is much needed to cut down the time the pistons in the callipers take to bite the rotors.... But if you put all the costs of all these so called upgrades, Its also not very cheap.... Assume delinking costs $450 and a Brembo master cylinder costs $500-$550, a further upgraded aluminium reservoir another $90 bucks,,, thats already alot of money, with which a set of braided hoses could easily be fixed with no changes to the braking feature of the bike....

 

Like i say again, i may be wrong, but this is from my detailed knowledge of the Combined Braking System...

 

Its another picture altogether is you have an ABS model.....

Indeed I agree to what both mates have said...

 

The de link cost $480 with worksmanship at UM

Mine would be totally diff fr UM...

It would be 2 hoses infront & 1 at the rear compare to UM 6 hoses...

& of course I will be planning to upgrade the master pump & rotor discs....

plus upgrading the rear shock & changing the front springs for the additional handling...

 

The Japs must have a reason to retain the system till now.... that is for sure...

 

now I pretty in a fix...lol

brand new set of hoses CBS from hel is around $580++ (I last heard from a X11 kaki of mine)

the problem with CBS is the bleeding which is a pain in the arse I believe...

& without proper bleeding it useless....

I more of a rear brake user. Pretty bad habit of mine but it a habit hard to change unless I skidded & fall hard...lol TOUCH WOOD...!!!!

the CBS dun really suit my style or...?

 

To all birds.....

I have a problem with my ride....

after speed of 100km/h to 180km/h esp during normal riding style or maintaining throttle,

the bike jerk like crazy...

it like u open throttle the bird dun wana "fly" but when doing hard riding, the bird is ok....

Can't figure out what went wrong...

Any advices??

I believe it could be the following issues

. Carb Setting

. Wire Harness

. Stator Coil

. Plug Coil & Cable

. CDI

 

Any advices???
