Electrical bikes with $0 road tax due to 0 cc means other ways of getting money from us will arise.

Nono. S$50k is a possible grant from SPRING Singapore to be given to potential entrepreneurs to finance their ideas/projects.

That is why I have an idea to build an electric motorcycle which charges itself while being ridden (i.e. full charge of batteries). Hence, needless to say, there wont be any need for building charging stations, or to remove the batteries to charge them at home.

Just curious, you mentioned you have an idea of making sure the the bike will self charge fully while ridden, is it really possible? Not doubting you but it sound too perfect. If it can be done, wouldn't it able to run non-stop until something break down???

How do u suggest I raise S$10k?

This one simple, beg, steal of borrow. Just kidding. If you want to find a willing investor, you will need a proposal with good ROI plan.

In Shanghai, you see many of these electric bicycles on the streets. The types that are banned in SG. They offer a good form of personal transportation for ppl ranging from students to old ladies. Cheap to run, can bring it home to charge. They're convenient and zippy around town, can run up to 40kph.

Why did SG ban these? under the pretext and pretense of safety? Or because you can't tax them?

$$ talks.

sg does not have a designated cycling/biking track. all pavements only. so chances are that you may run into someone with these powerful e-bikes.

e-bikes in sg neither here nor there, wanna go on rd, too slow, wanna go on pavement, too fast n dangerous

so ban such e-bikes is a good move until cycling/biking tracks are built.

lets say such tracks are built, and many of us have e-bikes, next thing is the parking and charging ports.

see this pic, lunch time at one of the 3 canteens in a small town (3.5km diameter). already so crowded. somemore not everyone is cycling.

imagine if all using e-bikes, u need more parking lots. and if everyone anyhow park, den headache liao

No more regrets.

Yes, it is possible through the application of a simple concept of a bottle dynamo; where kinetic energy is converted into electrical. In this context, the device (e.g. dynamo) charges the batteries when u ride the e-bike - thus maintaining a constant charge/voltage in the batteries. The dynamo concept is once such example. There are various other devices or even electronic components which can be used to store great amount of energy or to boost current/voltage. In addition, there's also a concept of fast-charging, where it is possible to charge an electric bike in just a mere one hour.

As for the proposal, I have started already on it. I am of electrical engineering background by the way. Any business suggestions or recommendations, or things I should note of, feel free to leave me a message. I would love to hear(:

Burn rubber, not gasoline.

I understand your concept. I used to dealt with bicycle dynamo hub at my previous company long time ago. Somehow the efficiency is not that good. For example, if you need to generate a higher power, you definately will have more drag or friction. This in turn will use more energy just to move the bike. At the end of the day, the energy used will be more. Hence the charging may not be fast enough to feed the additional energy. You may prolong the charging interval but sooner or later, you will still have to plug in to the power supply to charge.

But technology is changing. Maybe it is fesible now. I'm not sure. I'm already out of the engineering line for a long time. But all the best to your project. If it work, I guess money will be pouring in.
