i've seen alot runner owner putting those drink holder on the bike. those drink holder buy from where? normal bicycle shop or got specialise for bikes one? and ya where can buy the suspension cover as mention by "fatboy0000" ??

Hey to everyone...

 

I'm going to get my vxr200 06 very soon... maybe next week. Before i start riding the bike... are there any good soul out there that can gimme any kind of common info, any common problems that occur, any tips on taking care of the bike or any shop to recommend to buy accessories.

 

It would be nice if u reply here as it may help others who might ask the same question...

sponge type? is it like the one for the steering wheel for cars? if for that car shop loh.. if u talking about the lizard skin ones.. bicycle shop. those with expensive mountain bikes ones shd have..

 

sum shop even make custom one.. those along jln besar and ard that area..

actually bro, its written all over tis particular thread and oso on the other runner thread... hehehe!!! read slowly k ...

 

if i want to list down... wah.. a lot leh.. so take ur time, make some milo 1st , then get a comfortable chair.. and slowly scroll down.

 

no doubt u will encounter a lot of craps ... but u will unveil sum useful info as well.

 

btw ... i'm not mocking u, u noe. so dun be

well i'm a newbie in runner too. but i did read this thread from page1 and here's some info i gather and some i know from other ppl:

 

1. run in ur new bike at 70-80km/h for 1st 1k km. after tat can speed till ur balls goes to ur throat

 

2. 1k 3k 5k free servicing

 

3. every 3k change EO

 

4. petrol cover not very good. water will leak in. may collect 1.5l of water!!

 

5. hot air from small window very hot! dont direct to ur leg. leg hair might be gone!!

 

6. central lock might be spoil. check b4 u rode off from shop! mine was spoil and till now still not retified!

 

7. manual can be change to english one if its not in english at PIAGGIO

 

8. starting of bike might not be very smooth. might need to throttle abit and try many times for some

 

tats all for now. if there's any SENIORS that can add in to enrich apekinz's and my knowledge that will be great!!

Ya man.. I went to sunrise 4 days in a row to get ah huat to tune my ride..

Pissed off man.. Then i got fed up and went back to future, they tuned my bike once and i was satisfied. They're really good.

hmm... personally i feel there isn't a particular speed to maintain at when running in the new engine

more importantly is not to ram & over-rev it

& as for starting the engine... my vxr is 3yrs + now & still she starts with jux 1 press of the button without throttling so i think it is not normal if u have to throttle or crank it many times to get it started... especially when it is a new bike

well maybe compare to other runners might be slightly faster lah
