Got a prob here.

 

Just changed to polini speed control with the stock rollers given.

 

But it seems that now when i move off, the power isn't there (eg. clutching in while throttling), the kind of feeling im having. Plus the engine sounds very heavy, roaring but lack of the torque).

 

Well I went down to the shop that i changed to the polini speed control, and what they did was to change to a heavier rollers. It is better now but the problem is still there.

 

Any idea what should be done?

not sure wer to ask but i tink here shld be the rite spot for 2Trunner question..

 

can i fit any other bike transmission cover to mine? like those with a kick starter ones.. EG typhoon? coz i lookin for a cheap or unique one coz mine broken..

 

2nd hand transmission cover r plenty...available at Tai Hin

u shouldn't haf change to aftermarket variators if u are not into pick up, imo. they make ur bike rev higher easier, therefore reaching desired speed faster( something like tat ar). since u bought it .. a heavier roller will be the best solution, maybe change the secondary gear? .. its not a problem .. its juz a diff feeling altogether.

OK.. for 4 stroke, the rollers supplied are usually light rollers. this is to give you a better pick up. As the rollers are lighter, the variator will spin faster. Heavier rollers will spin slower. however having said that, the heavier rollers do give a slightly better top end.

Heavier rollers will mean losing some pick up...

if you have the means "cash" try different weights to see which one suits ur needs most.
