i service my burger 650 at Future Scootering. look for ah chong. i trust him cos i've seem him overhaul my and another 650 before. he quite know this bike inside out.

I find it very difficult to pump the air on the front tyre because of the double brake disc, anywhere to get a 90 deg adpator for front tyre, same as those car ones?

People ask me, "Why ride bike?" I ask them back :"Why drive car?"

Hi, bros,

I have 2 tech qns on B650, hope you can enlighten:-

1) In the manual, we must change engine oil every 6000 km and tx oil every 12,000 km. Is the enigne oil and tx oil the same? Manual states eng oil must be SJ/SM multi-grade oil, but doesn't mention SJ/SM grade for tx oil(just multi-grade). I understand that the eng oil and tx oil do get to mix with one another as there is some connecting pipe between them, so does that mean we must use the same grade of oil for eng and tx, even though the manual is not particular on tx oil?

2) in the BurgmanUSA forum, it was mentioned that B650 speedometer indicates about 10% higher than actual speed. Will this affect the odometer too? I know that for those dial type manual sppedometer, the speedo is related to the odo, so a 10% inaccuracy in sppedo will mean a 10% inaccuracy in odometer too, but not sure for this digital type, any bro has done checks before?

Thanks in advance.

just follow the user manual to use Grade SJ and above engine oil. remember to use 10W40. u can use the same engine oil for the TX oil. cos it'll be mix in the end. when the tx part dun have enough oil, the oil from the engine part will flow over. thus its important to check your engine oil through the glass window every 2000km.

as for our 650 meters, i've tested with t-max and silverwings before. ours tend to be higher by 5 km/hr to 10km/hr.

1) just chg the eng oil n tx oil together, cos the tx oil will b well over the 360ml required mos of the time when i checked during oil chg (3 bottle jus nice). both use the same oil, impt issue is not to use energy conserving oil. I prefer 15W50 as using 10W40 burns more away for my case although it is more smoother but noisier.

2) not sure but if i do not rx any summon from TP by this wk, then it shld b true.:cheeky:

Hi bros, allow me to do a simple review of B650 after 2 weeks of riding.

1) Engine, Tx, aceleration, braking, stability, agility:

I feel that Suzuki still lags behind Honda in enigne refinement, I miss the sound of the silverwing engine, smooth as silk, if I can describe it this way, B650 sound rather loud when compare with silverwing. I hope that engine sound is not the indication of engine reliability!

Tx wise, Swing has a little lag (free play) when starting from rest (there is a time lag after you twist the trottle), while B650 has very little time lag (I attribute this I thk to Swing is belt driven while B5650 is gear driven?), I shan't compare power as they r of different cc. However when overtaking, Swing doesn't seem to "drop gear" but B650 I can feel a intentional "dropping of gear" to give the heavyweight a higher rpm.

Braking, the left brake lever of Swing is very effective (linked brake), as for B650, squeezing the left brake lever alone will not give you a satisfied braking power, u need to squeeze the right brake lever too, then u'll be amazed of its stopping distance, better than Swing (I attribute this to B650 dual disc front brake compared to Swing sing disc front brake).

Stability wise, B650 beats Swing hands down, (I attribute this to B650 engine is front mounted, weight is more to the front).

Agility wise, Swing is more agile, not only is Swing narrower, it's mirrors are higher (not same height as cars) as it has linked brake, so you can hold left brake levere and throttle as the same time, giving u more precise control at low speed lane-splitting.

Comfort, Utility user-friendiness

Comfortwise, Swing has soft suspension, even if I adjust the rear suspension to 5, it is still soft coampared to B650 (in fact, when both are new, a setting of "5" of Swing is equivalent to a setting "2" of B650).

utiliy wise, although both are 55litre storage, but B650 is easier to put things, the opening is bigger.

I'll talk about more next time.

Comments, please.
