Everyone going for the new silverwing and not burgman cos Gan Hoe say stock will be coming in end of the year or next year.

That is why this thread is so quiet or because burgman rider are usually the more mature generation and they dont post much compare to the youth?

Just change my rear tire, still using the bridgestone hoop, change at Gan Hoe and the cost has increased from $100(last year) to the present price of $105.

I change the tire, dunlop, is because of a bubble or lump at the tire thread. The tire before this is a bridgestone change because of the same reason. Seem that the rear tire has this problem is because of the heat from the exhaust pipe and maybe of the incorrect tire pressure say Hassan, mechanic, at GH. Incorrect pressure I dont think so cos I check tire pressure every week and if forget I will check the next week. The pressure usually drop around 2psi.

Any burgman rider dont has this problem?

happen to me once when using gold standard on my AN400's rear and another time when using Bridgestone TH01 on my AN650's rear.

its actually manufacturer fault when they built the tire. there might be gaps inside the tire. then when heat generate when riding and heat from exhaust built on tire, thus creating Lumps or Blisters on tire.

Good for you, btw how do Michelin Gold compare to Bridgestone Hoop? That in term of wear and tear, road holding qualities, road sound. Please give feedback. Where you change it and its cost.

Seem to be the problem with scooter on the rear wheel with the hot exhaust nearby, maybe add a piece of aluminium sheet between the exhaust and wheel will prevent this?

not so lucky kana one la. just that i change tires very often cos i run abt alot.

gold standard is a touring tire. very good on wet weather. on dry weather, even better.

bridgestone hoop is more expensive. rear is not bad. but front at times quite slippery.

also heard u took your 400 for some off road riding huh? steady la! haha.....

I quite like the michelins but feel that they are not as grippy as i hoped them to be.... Only thing is that there are very few tires available for the 400 due to the tyre size.

How i wish there were more choices for tires.....

I will take note of this Michelins tires, at least got one more choice to consider when time to change.

Burgman is really a good touring scooter, comfort in sitting, good in fuel for the 400cc class, the best time is the large storage under the seat. Took this 400cc up to Ko Samui and Phuket without any problem so far, single bike only.

Ya, tried off road for about 6km because wanted to explore the waterfall area.

At first the road is not too bad but as you go further in it turn muddy, rocky with potholes till one of the steep uphill section, where the GS and Vstorm rider say it abit difficult even for their bikes to travel. That where we turn back.

Experience from this off road is scooter are not built to travel over rough, potholes road because of the low scooter clearance and its short suspension system but if need be it too can do it. Do expect very rough and jaying ride. The road condition there is worse than the final part of the road going up Bukit Brincang at Cameron HL. What I can say is it was fun riding offroad for short distant.

I can't really compare to the Hoops cos I only used the OEM Hoops for about 2~3 months when I first got the bike. That was over 3 years ago... and when I bought over the bike the Hoops were rather worn (around 1 year old) so not a good comparison.

As for the Michelin Gold Standards, my comments are the same as bigcow's, for me personally the biggest selling point is the wet weather holding, so far always gave me a solid, confident feeling in the rain.

Wear and tear is around 10,000kms for the rear, more for the front but usually I change both together.

I got mine at Future Scootering, for the pricing it's better you give them a call. Hope this helps!

Ok, thank, will keep Future Scootering in mind when I next change the tires.

Do Future balance the tire at their place? Or do you need to balance the scooter's tires.

Do Future Scootering change the tires valve at the same time as you change the tires.

Gan Hoe do not has the short tire valve stem, so they do not change it. I know it better to change it but I do not know where to get it. Any ideas where?

Tyre valves are changed if you request them to do it, but it's the 'L' shaped ones. Suits me fine cos I find it easier to pump air with them. As for balancing, they do have the machine but I don't require as I use Ride-On tyre protection.

Future might be a better place to change tires, Gan Hoe do not provide valve changing and balancing of tires.

Is Ride-On a type of glue that you pumped into the tire valve and it then coat the tire wall and side with this glue?

If it is, then will it be difficult to remove the glue from the wheel when you change the tires?

1) Check out more on the product here.

2) It's not gluey, I just changed my tyres last month, it's sill quite liquid after a year, the mechanic just rinsed the old stuff away from the rim with water. Not difficult to do from what I observed.

Hi all burg rider

just got a 2nd hand burg 400k1

need to know how to maintain the burg

how to join urs

thxz

Welcome!

I'm riding a K3 so i'm not sure if there'll be a difference. Maintainence is pretty simple. Oil changes and brake pads are standard. Probably the only thing that differs is the mileage before you've got to change the belt and rollers.

Standard Suzuki issue is 35/35W H4 bulbs but it will be very expensive to get from the agent. Cannot/difficult to get from outside.

So normally we change to 55/60W H4 bulbs. This is a common bulb also use by cars, that why it is cheaper. Downside is that it not the correct wattage to use with our bikes but almost everyone of us is using it. So it your choice.
