Confirm engine will not die, small wheel over the hump is the big problem.

if you're looking for a tire pressure gauge, the TG-050 (i bought from mustafa) does not fit the SWing's front wheel properly as there's too little clearance for gauge to go nicely atop the valve :(

Hi everyone,

I am new to this Cafe and have some problem i hope fellow silverwing owner can help.

I got myself a silverwing not too long ago and it was riding fine. But just last week, it failed to start. I suspect the battery is dead as the starter motor cannot start the engine.

I am not familar with the bike's setup yet cos too busy with work to mess around with it. Any idea where is the battery located and how i can remove it .

Thanks in advance.

regards

Alex

p.s. would be interested to join in your future outings to meet more fellow silverwinger.

where is battery?

battery is located inside the left side panel (see page 12 & 113 of manual), accessible via under-seat storage... lift the seat, you will see a plastic cover with 2 screws on the left side, battery is inside there.

no reaction from starter?

1. dead battery: check battery for charge

2. blown fuse: if battery still carries charge, next is to check the fuses (see page 114-117 of manual). fuses are located at 3 locations... 2 fuse boxes externally/easily accessible under the seat (10A, 15A & main fuse B 30A), 1 main fuse A (30A) inside left side panel which needs some dismantling.

3. defective starter coil: more serious/expensive problem

4. still cannot... time to call for tow truck :p

hmm... I just disabled (took out) my under-seat light recently.

Worried I may accidentally not lock the seat properly and then drained the batt.

Check fuse 1st

Why are people who ride motorcycles called bikers and people who ride bikes called cyclists?

Guys, what's your current practice in changing the air filter:

10k?

15k?

** I know Sensible's can last 28k... hehe. Change liao boh?

I was thinking of 10k, which means roughly 5-6 months of travel for me.

Can't imagine 5 mths change 1 air filter when I normally clean my previous X9's every month.
