a) to keep top box cover from dropping when opened... 2 pieces of rubber a 2 screw to extend the 2 holders

b) to "strap down" my stuffs inside top box (e.g. spare helmet)... dig 2 holes (internal), 2 cable ties, rubber strap

see ya all later

pics to the simple mods :D

for (a), can also use cable tie if don't wanna use screw

Just found out that Diablo Scooter front tyre will be reaching our shores on 25 Jul.

Waiting to replace my front tyre soon.

So far my personal feel abt the rear tyre is quieter den the original hoops.

Still feel unsafe on wet carpark surface or over wet road markings though.

But mine assessment its performance is at least on par with original hoops.

With a tat bit stickier den hoops.

Just replaced my rear tyre with Diablo Scooter at Team HKL for $98.

Front tyre not available yet. May be coming in July.

Had to replace my rear tyre cos it developed relatively deep crack line.

Anyway already got one hole which was only patched with worm since Feb.

Quote for the front Bridgestone tyre was $120.

Decided to wait for Diablo Scooter front tyre.

I used Diablo Strada (made in Germany) on my previous bike which in my opinion seems better grip den BT020.

Not sure of the performance of Diablo Scooter (made in Brazil).

Will try to give some opinion a couples of months later.

Why are people who ride motorcycles called bikers and people who ride bikes called cyclists?

Hi, guys.

Anyone here actually change the standard spark plugs at 10k instead of every 5k?

Just wondering how much we can prolong the use before performance is affected.

spark plugs can normally last for at least 20 000km. some people actually use all the way till performance loss then change. so ultimately is up to u. i change at every 30 000km. everytime change le, performance still same.

hi bros...would like to check with u all...for SW, battery specs supposed to be YTZ9 or YTZ12? :bouncefire:

this i dunno. but last heard from my friend, its not the sam battery as those u can get anywhere. seems like its a battery of its own kind. when u buy this battery, u dun have to pour the contents in. its pre-fill in factory. and u dun even have to charge it. just install in bike & ride. not cheap though.... if i remembered correctly, its abt $140++.

guys!!! correct me if i'm wrong. just sharing.

the SW uses a sealed type maintenance free battery and is fitted lying down. imagine if its not sealed... very messy :D

maintenance free batteries usually features gas recombination technology to eliminate water loss. It has longer periods between charges when the battery is in standby mode and once the high-gravity acid is sealed inside the resin cast, it is virtually maintenance free (no need to top up acid or distilled water).

last heard from ah piau (looi's) the normal compatibles would cost around $140+ but the stock or more "branded" ones could easily cost >$170+

so we better take good care of it... question is how, its a maintenance free fella :cheeky:

If u dare, get those that is not "maintenance free" type..... I have been using this and currently lasted 0.5 years liao. Cost $40 only.

My theory is that if it last me till a year, it is more worth it then getting the original type. FYI, my original only lasted me 10mths..... not sure why ....

shortchange or not depends on how much was paid... 一分钱 = 一分货

difference =

YTX9 (YTZ) ... 12V, 9Ah, 120CCA

YTX12 (YTZ) ... 12V, 12Ah, 180CCA

Ampere-hours (A·h) is the product of the time that a battery can deliver a certain amount of current (in hours) times that current (in amps), for a particular discharge period. This is one indication of the total amount of charge a battery is able to store and deliver at its rated voltage. This rating is rarely stated for automotive batteries.

Cranking amps are the numbers of amperes a lead-acid battery at 32 degrees F (0 degrees C) can deliver for 30 seconds and maintain at least 1.2 volts per cell (7.2 volts for a 12 volt battery). In other words, CA/cranking amps determine how much power you have to start your car in most climates. The basic job of a battery is to start an engine; it must crank, or rotate the crankshaft while at the same time maintain sufficient voltage to activate the ignition system until the engine fires and maintains rotation. This requirement involves a high discharge rate in amperes for a short period of time. Since it is more difficult for a battery to deliver power when it is cold, and since the engine requires more power to turn over when it is cold, the Cold Cranking rating is defined as: The number of amperes a lead-acid battery at 0 degrees F (-17.8 degrees C) can deliver for 30 seconds and maintain at least 1.2 volts per cell (7.2 volts for a 12-volt battery). In other words, CCA/cold cranking amps determine how much power you have to start your car on cold winter mornings.

Scooby.... damn solid technical writeup man......Ya da Product guy......

Eric... normally Layman...... bigger number means per full charge can tahan longer la... but if recommend only 10 u go put 20.. .doesnt mean good

Ya alternator maybe cannot fully charge at all... Ur batt might spoilt...

What my fren tried b4 was like VFR or Blackbird all change to ST 13 Batt. Max up 2-4Ah. Esp those put a lot of "additional electrical related mods" .... then Well.. function better.....

Since ours is 12Ah already, maybe you can see the 14 one. Provided it can fit. Hahahhaha

Go ask la.....

oops... i'll remember the layman talk next time

adding on to anodise57's points, think we can ignore the diff in CCA ratings between the 2 batts coz our weather is perpetually warm/hot... our bikes' system (engine, batt, spark plugs/distributor/ignitor/cables, etc) are "naturally warmed" compared to the temperate countries :D

more significant is the batt capacity (Ah) rating, especially if bike is fitted with lots of power hungry gadgets (e.g. hi-fi/speakers, fog lights, GPS, communicator, hp charging, etc). if too low, then may have problem powering them all although alternator/rectifier should take the load when engine is running  if too high, some say may damage the gadgets and worst still, the bikes electronics (warranty sure gone case liow). guess its similar to the saying that we should use normal batts instead of energizer/duracel for our alarm clocks... too strong a current will spoil the clock

Theoretically speaking, the YTZ14S should fit to SW as the dimension is the same as YTZ12S. I've personally replaced 2 YTZ14S on my Busa and I would say it actually helps a great deal in cranking up my 1300 plus powering up my additional lightings. Price wise for both bats I suppose it doesn't variate much. IMO, I would suggest using the 14 for those who have or intend to mount up more electronically stuffs which consume more power.
