WOW. I had no idea there was an option to pick up dirt biking slowly and under guidance! This is hugely exciting news for me! :D

I would love to join in whenever you guys do decide to go. If no alternatives turn up, I'm happy to get in for an August session at Tristan Park.

I got my GoPro HD Hero Motorsports from eBay. Express delivered from the US for S$370 IIRC. Worth every cent paid!

Thanks bro. :D Hehehe..the ending of Part 1 is still haunting me - my shoulder has only just started feeling better. :faint:

I am totally a beginner (2B in July 2010, never rode a dirt bike before Tristan Park), so other beginners will be fine! The guide will wait for you if you can't keep up, so it's really up to you how fast you want to go. Disclaimer: You will want to go fast!

In terms of difficulty of the terrain, I loved the leafy 'blind' uphill trail (mid way in Part 1's video), loved the blasts between trees and the plantation, didn't mind a few downhill trails, but found two parts slightly tricky: (1) deep muddy ruts - I crashed in one because I was changing direction while in the muddy rut, (2) deep dry cuts in the terrain - you have to stand on the pegs, get some momentum, prepare for the front to dive like crazy and absorb some of the impact in your arms and shoulders, and throttle out so you don't stop halfway, lose your balance and fall.

If you've ever wondered what dirt biking would be like, you have to give Tristan Park a try.

Dirt biking will teach you about throttle control and countersteer - what they always call drifting. Its hellish fun sliding the bike around the trails, i would love to go again!! The throttle and rear brake will be your best friend, because most of the rules that apply to road riding dont apply in the dirt. The guide will lead you along the trails that suit your skill level, so there is pretty much nothing to worry about.

By the way, the KTM is a monster. i rented the WR200 but had the chance to try out the ktm 250. the one i tried had a two-finger fast clutch that was extremely heavy. I was basically twisting the throttle and hanging on for dear life all the way!

yup and a gsxr 400... the torque of the ktm is fantastic...+ the ground in some places is rocky/uneven..pretty exciting! My friend who rides a cbr1k was dragging both feet on the ground as the bike was pulling him up a slope. lol

the bikes were poorly maintained (tires botak, exhaust leaking), difficult to ride (engine will stall when the bike is in gear n stationary, cannot find neutral gear and gotta keep kick starting) and the guide offered no instruction on dirt riding (we just took the bikes n go, have to figure everything out ourselves).. i didnt enjoyed myself at all.. totally different from what i had expected it to be.. very very disappointing.. my 1st n last time to tristan park
