no wonder... but that's fast wor.. what's wrong with YOHE? Is it a chinese brand?

I never believe in passing fast, and I never believe that just because you pass fast, you're a good rider. I believe that your failures and mistakes will make you realise you have far more potential for learning. It will make you realise that what we're learning in SSDC is just the beginning!

This means you're less likely to be complacent or reckless once you get your licence. It teaches PATIENCE - a very important virtue and roadskill.

Keep it up everyone and let's continue to strive for improvement in our riding skills, whether or not you have already gotten your licences!

I agree. People like me who took many, many lessons to pass will understand this best - especially if we have other classes of licenses and the experience to appreciate the difficulty on the roads. :)

He who hesitates is lost!

I personally prefer MHR.

Most MHR Helmats come with cool max lining cushions.

Its helps to absorb ur perspiration better.

But of course, for riding trips or even everyday riding, i still recommend full face helmats.

Shoei, Arai, Suomy, etc... $400++

Better protection.

Think the following is quite good. Not sure if SSDC can speciallly arrange free for those who recently graduated to have defensive riding section or not...

TP 1 Feb 2009

Revised Training Curriculum for Motorcyclists

Recognising that motorcyclists may not have sufficient knowledge on the use of their vehicles, TP will be revising the existing training curriculum of schools in 2009 to enhance the knowledge of learner riders on the parameters of their vehicles and to encourage defensive riding on the road. The revised curriculum will include 3 theoretical lessons on defensive riding. During these lessons, instructors will also impart practical defensive riding tips with the aid of scenario-based videos.

New Video for Newbie Drivers/ Riders

In addition, TP will also be producing a new road safety video that includes the common causes of accidents, video clips of actual accidents, as well as victims’ and offenders’ sharing of their real-life experiences. The intention of the video is to instill in drivers/riders the consequences of not behaving responsibly on the roads. All new drivers and riders will have to view this video before they are allowed to collect their driving licences. The revised curriculum and the video will be implemented by mid-2009.

Half of your bike will be outside the stop line(do not obstruct the traffic which is from the right) to see cars/bikes coming from the right, due to the wall or anything which is blocking you,you need to move out and see for cars/bikes.I am taking in SSDC too! heh

At SSDC, for test route.... usually inch out at junction apply for full bike length ...not half of bike... (unless the condition / safetly do not permits...)

thanks guys!

although its been few years back, i tried to recall and make it as detail as possible.

make a completed stop at stop line 1st. if traffic is busy, you can do "inch out", but must "inch out" completely of the bike. before start to "inch out", check blind spot.

eg, from Y to X position

----------

! X !

!--- !

! Y !

If traffic is clear to go, dont need to do "inch out"

steps

stop at stop line

check traffic condition ( turn head right and left)

if clear, check back and ride off. in the mid way, check blind spot again before turn the handle bar to make right turn.

Half of your bike will be outside the stop line(do not obstruct the traffic which is from the right) to see cars/bikes coming from the right, due to the wall or anything which is blocking you,you need to move out and see for cars/bikes.I am taking in SSDC too! heh

must do completely bike "inch out" on the test route outside.

At SSDC, for test route.... usually inch out at junction apply for full bike length ...not half of bike... (unless the condition / safetly do not permits...)

if condition not permit, better stay behind the stop line. safety 1st

1 more thing, the bike front wheel should not cross the adjacent road. might get points for "obstruction of traffic flow" or worse, "cause hazard to other road user" which is an IF.

After all, it depends on how the tester view on the fault. :sian:

A second of precaution is an hour of safety. It never hurts to ask.
