Did u send in a formal feedback? Sounds bad... Hope u get well soon without scar

I could feel my thigh being cooked throughout the assessment. Worse still was couldn't switch to neutral and try to disperse the heat. It's not serious but the burn marks were RED last night.

Another student was complaining of having to smell diesel fumes from these vehicles.

I mean normal lessons is fine, if there's a jam, we can always change our route and practise something else. Last night was an assessment so all of us bo pian got to stupidly line up and wait for the driver to do her parking. The instructor couldn't see that there was an assessment meh? Are there not enough parking lots on the course for the student to practise parking???

Congrats on passing. (:

Mine is on the 8th. Been almost a month since I last ride. Will be taking 2-3 CR on 6 July to ease any tension or rust that might be present. :dot:

thanks.. 2-3 CR in one day? Siong leh.. I go through 1 CR already find it a bit too long.. especially when there's a lot of 'road users'... wait until cow come home for the road to clear to turn out..

Dear SSDC

You know, I love the school, and I love the instructors. I'm glad that you have moved to a new location (3 mins from my workplace) and you're taking in students for Class 4 and Class 5. I don't even mind sharing the circuit with them even if that means having to do extreme overtaking or even wait for them while they do their parking.

But today, I really have to say something about these vehicles.

This evening's 5.55pm class was an assessment. Now during assessment, most of the SSDC Class 3 cars were already out of the circuit, leaving a small, manageable number. The instructors also tend to wave us through rather than make us wait for their student to do their parking.

But there was this private instructor teaching Class 4/5 along the "main road" (where Class 2A/2 had to filter right to turn right to go to the narrow plank) whose student was happily taking her time to park her lorry, holding up the assessment.

I know, we are all students so let's be patient and share the course blah blah, but I really did not count on getting FIRST DEGREE BURNS on my thigh from the bike engine, from too much waiting.

Is there no etiquette that these Class 4/5 instructors have to observe, not just during assessment but during normal practice? Are there not enough parking lots for these students to practice away from the test routes?

I hope we won't have to deal with Class 4/5 students during the test date itself. Having to deal with Class 3 students is enough!!!

Personally i feel that it can be quite chaotic to squeeze, class 2b-2, class 3a-3 and class 4 and 5 learners in one circuit. Esp those ppl taking 2b (usually without road experience) are vulnerable to those class 4 and 5 vehicles. I drove big lorries b4 and it has a big range of blindspot. Hence i don feel it is wise for ssdc to put class 4 and 5 learners in the circuit. They might not be used to the vehicle also.

However we shld not be fearful of those big vehicles. We still gotta face those vehicles nxt time on the squeezy expressways.

Anyway its better to give some benefit of doubt to those class4/5 instructors. They might not be used to the environment at ssdc.

Hope u have a speedy recovery from the burns inflicted.

I don't do my circuit in order. Just swing here and there. If plank is packed, i just head to another obstacle. My main concern is figure 8 and crank course.

Figure 8 I tend to get complacent and clock up longer time.

As for crank course, yet to overcome the fear of stalling. :dot:

YES! I agree on the part of throwing the bike. Yet to try it. Is it counter-steering? I'm not sure of the term but it's like throwing your bike to another direction before making a turn.

don't worry, the test there is no cars where the circuit test route is, all the parking lots will be blocked, trust me. I just took my test 2 days back (:
