I passed 2 months 28 days @ SSDC. After passing each practical lesson, you will need to wait 3 days before the next available lesson anyway.

Enroll, go for theory and pass theory test.

Go for pract lesson.

Ensure you pass theory test.

Pass all pract lesson and book tp.

pass tp 1 time.

Its not how fast you are, its how safe you are. I would give myself 4-5 months.

1 months for basic riding

1 months for riding theory

1.5 months for clearing lessons.

1 months for the TP wait and revisions

average is around 6 months lah. I'm 37, have class 3, took me 9 months (stopped about 3 months due to work schedule and holidays). All in all in went SSDC for 20 lessons(both lessons and curcuit revisions), and passed on the first try.

Riding a Phantom now, waiting to take my 2A next years. :)

for me, it took me 2.5 months to get my 2b from BBDC.

points to note:

like what lips said, enroll and clear the theory first. i'm not sure about other schools, so i can only advise based on BBDC's curriculum.

Abbreviations used below:

RTL - Riding Theory Lesson

PPL - Defensive Riding Theory Lesson

RTE - Riding Theory Evaluation (like a mock RTT Test)

RTT - Riding Theory Test

BTL - Basic Theory Lesson

RC - Revision Circuit

SP - Self practice (1/2 price of a normal lesson, but no instructor)

You'll need the following in order to book for TP:

1. Valid PDL (as there's a new ruling that for learners in the circuit, PDL is required. For a PDL, you'll therefore have to clear your Riding Theory Test first.

In short, the sequence is BTL 1.01 -> BTL1.02 -> RTL 1.01 -> RTL 1.02 -> RTE -> book a RTT date (note that you have to pass RTE then you can book for a RTT date)

2. Practical Lessons. You'll have 14 stages to go through, and you have to pass the previous lesson before booking the next one..so it's 1.01, 1.02, 1.03, 2.01, 2.02, 3.01, 3.02, 4.01, 4.02, 5.01, 5.02, 6.01, 7.01, 8.01

Please note the following important lessons: 5.01, 5.02. (For 5.01, you have to clock no more than 20 demerit points to clear the lesson, and for 5.02, you cannot attain more than 12 demerit points. I personally feel 5.02 is the hardest lesson of all!)

Lessons 6.01 to 8.01 are road lessons. 8.01 is basically a full test. Just that it's a mock one. That means, you'll be evaluated by the instructors. The lesson requirement is that you cannot accumulate more than 18 demerit points.

3. With a valid RTT, PDL, you will be able to book for a TP date. however, caution: you are required to complete 3 defensive riding lessons, PPL1.01, PPL1.02 and PPL1.03 and clear lesson 8.01. 5 days before your TP date. That, you'll have to pace and adjust yourself.

For my case, i went for lessons almost everyday, and during the time of waiting for RTT and TP, I'll just go for revisions and self practices.

Price-wise, i spent 1k in total. Note that the amount spent is subjective. If you're good, you can spend maybe around 700? Mine was 1k because i was pretty weak, and hence i went for 8 RCs and 12 SPs, methinks..

Hope this info helps! Anyway, there's a thread on BBDC lessons, so you might wanna go take a look, it's very informative! http:__www.singaporebikes.com_forums_showthread.php_310547-My-2B-journey. (change the _ to /)

:) It's funny for our age group to be a learner among youngsters!

2A lesson starts in few weeks for me :) The wait is torturous!

I agree with you totally! It has been 12 years since I last ride and now I am with the young kids at BBDC. Kind of funny.........

Clear RTT; get PDL

Practical Orientation

Clear Lesson 1-4; test

Clear Lesson 5-8; test

Book TP

I reckon 6 - 8 mths on an average. Unless you can afford the time, probably can clear in 4 months earliest.
