Things to Look out for when buying a 2nd hand bike from shop or direct seller

pls give your experience and advise for buying a 2nd hand bike.

things to look out for be it with bike shop or direct seller.

 

and i heard from my friend must check Chassis number or engine number, where and how to check?

so the newbie riders like me will not get cheater by "bu liang" seller.

Lying salesman, lying mechanic, 2nd hand bike will have problems but just how severe. Check brakes, clutch, ignition working or not, 2T pump(2 strokes), tank got leak, rims, brake rotor not warped, dented, bearings etc, brake calipers screwed on tight, fork got leak or not or whether they are straight. See meter working or not, not the most important thing because you'd likely to follow traffic flow instead of looking at the speedo.

 

Engine part, you can listen to it and try to hear if there's something horribly wrong with it then open it up or you can open it up which is unlikely the shop would let you do. 2nd hand bike don't expect too much la, unless the owner was a collector or someone who actually loves his/her bike.

where got good? i bought mine at asphoon( toh guan), a lot of problems. pipe nvr decarb plus a lot of small holes which make my bike lose horse power plus a lot of other things. They all cockster la. Their slogan :"cos no one else". Ya lo, no one else will buy bike from them or approach them for service.
