I am new to the forum. Thinking of replacing my rear shock. Ohlins is out of my budget. Any feedback on Wilbers? Or are there any other recommendations? Thanks!

 

Welcome bro....if rear shock is out of your budget, maybe u can try Hypro spring from moto world...or asking around who have 2nd hand wibers shock to let go. i think someone still keep it and wish to let go...pm me ur contact & keep u inform the next meetup.

if ur bike reach one cycle e. 100,000km. Do a complete top overhaul and have a peace of mind when you going touring especially thailand. Bike is proven hardcore and need not much maintenance..Just make sure sufficient EO when on the road, other than that just wear & tear of the parts.

 

Overall, i think u need to spend 2k for overhaul.

Just back from 3NCR, saw a couple of Vara's there. Bike performed perfectly, even with all the uneeded cr@p I was carrying. FC was very good, KL to GP in one shot with almost 3 litres left!

 

Going on UK leave for two weeks tonight, hope to catch up when I get back.

 

Hope the ankle has healed up by then David.

11km/l is too much...if you have not service your carb and do tuning for a long time, maybe its time to do it. it will help to improve your fc

carb model should be somewhere 15-17km/l

Just a quick question to the Vara1000 riders, will i have problems with the height of the bike at stops? I'm abt 1.7m. Maybe looking for 1, but no one seems to be selling..
