Just a quick question to the Vara1000 riders, will i have problems with the height of the bike at stops? I'm abt 1.7m. Maybe looking for 1, but no one seems to be selling..

Hi, Hariku..

Its very heartwarming that you would consider this bike.. As an owner, here are some info that might deepen ur interests..

Most of the riders are generally about ur height, myself included, give or take a few centimetres diff.

With the adjustable progressive spring, you can alter the height based on your comfort. For myself, I started to use the lower settings. over time, as i grew more confident, I increase the tension to higher. those of the same height like yours end up having 'excellent ballet-like skills'... :cheeky:...

Another concern you need to note is the sheer weight of the ride. It is not known to us as the 'fatgerl' for nothing. it would be best if you can make yourself available to one of the meet-ups for a 'feel'. The brudders is more than willing to share their infinite experience and opinions.. Keep yourself peeled to the thread for next meet-up updates!

Atwin >> How's the recovery coming along, ol' capitain? the thread has been roaring with new blood sentiments lately.. Khe Khe.. :thumb:

Thank you very much for your advice. Would love to meet up, but currently stuck without a ride. You refer as "fatgerl" due to its laden weight or its feel when riding?

I would very much like to get an dual purpose bike that will be easy to maintain and has a bullet proof engine when going touring..

I don't think there is a problem la according to spec the rider seat level is 800mm but I never measure it be4.

Ya noone selling vara. .. not even the boon Siew... I went there n they told me they not bringing the 1000 vara. Then after searching around I found a new 08model at bike production selling 16k but was gone when I return to buy it after a week... sad...

funds collected for stickers and shirt etc.....

the fund is actually the balance of money collected during past years BBQ event held annually. extra amount are just balance of pooled $$$ collected during meet-ups@ Simpang.

Having said this, I hope we can plan a gathering soon. we had a kopi sessions.. BBQ sessions.. Maybe we can go something else locally.. Bowling perhaps?

Share your ideas here.. the possibility are endless if we all agree in the name of fun and camaraderie..

Common fault is dat u'll tend to drop the bike when parking it at the car park...

Parts are not expensive, anyone wants a spare rectifier and fuel pump? ;)
