Hi Guys,

 

I ride a Vara 2002 MK2 1000cc, and had a bit of date with the road after a couple of kids ran out for a taxi. Car In front slammed on brakes and I lost my front wheel as coming out of a corner at the time . I pop onto your site every now again when not traveling for work to see what you guys are up to, so was hoping you could help me with some info.

 

Does an body know of any used spares that I can rebuilds with, mostly looking for front light and plastic fairing inside and out around the dash?

 

Do you have motorcycle breaker yards here in Singapore?

 

Are there any recommended changes to do now with aftermarket parts that are cool that you guys can suggest? Maybe like flat indicators like on the later models?

 

Any advice or place names much appreciated

Just done up my fatger over the weekend at HCL situated at Kaki Bukit Auto bay level 2 , quite a active shop inside this forum. Heard reviews on the BMC so decided to give it a try as they are the distributor in Sg for this brand. Also time for fatty to do a nice spa so here goes on the list of damage,

 

1. EO Pennzoil 10w-40 x 4 bottles - $80

2. BMC Air (RACE) -$158

3. KNN Oil Filter - $25

4. Water Wetter, flushing and changing coolent -$65

5. Denso Iridium spark plugs - $32

 

Plus a free snow wash hahaha

 

Difference felt immediately, idling is much stable. The pick up is smoother. Afterall its normal for a bike to behaves like this after a good maintenance servicing. But at the highway en-route back home, when I fist up the throttle ,especially at speed > 110km/h, I can feel the difference in the roll- on pick up! The BMC filter works like a charm. The fatger seemed to lose weight and accelerates further even at high speed. Not wanting to return back my license back to LTA, I back down. The roll-on acceleration from 110-150km/h is felt immediately. And the credit goes to the air filter. Meanwhile I am still monitoring , but it seem like after changing to BMC, I been wanting more to buka the throttle hahaa.

 

So if its time for your KNN to go, its time to change to BMC hahaha.

 

Overall for the workshop experience for normal servicing. - i would definitely go back again , the part on the free snow wash is good for lazy bums like me hahah

6footer> U can try ebay .co.uk , as for plastics , its a king ransom to buy in Sg. Since your plastic is damaged , why not try to go the big tank route? The kit comes with side fairings, the BIG(49L) tank itself and pipes for routing the juices into the carbs. And I happen to have a set sitting somewhere ;-)

 

Front lights r not common here, but I am sure you can get some in Ebay UK too. However , pain in the posterior to get it send to Sg. As most ebay UK shop don't do delivery here.

 

Mayb a bit of mod from a old baja 250 bug eye can set you going road worthy again. But you gotta loose the the front crowl and some works on the bracket. Seen a GS1100 go that route , bike looks damn unique, but all effort worthwhile to get your fatger unique.

Sounds good.. An aftermarket air filter always does the trick. be it BMC or KNN.

 

Btw, there is a branch at Toh Guan Industrial. Next time can go there cuz nearer to West Side brudders, esp bro Zac.

My bike just came out from the workshop this afternoon after several month of resting....waiting for parts to arrival. The parts i replace - new crash bar, new touratech handguard, new eagle screen, new led fog light, new foot brake pedal, new left fairing & new rear rims ...u can get it from ebay UK which i mange to get a 2nd hand rear rim at on 45 pounds (quite a good deal) and left fairing around 50 pounds but i have to pay abt 100 plus for the shipment to singapore.

 

What are the parts u r looking for....maybe we can assist to find for u.. If u interested for 49 litres tank, look for jason. he has another 49litres tank.

I was looking to make my bike as twindero or marathon project from african queen....too bad the african queen did not reply me for the parts i want..maybe u should go for it to make it unique.
